What do I do to fix this? - Anonymous This has already been spoken of a while back. Here is the link:http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/54166It seems that they have your solution http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/57341 KenD. - MiniViking 0 For some time now we have been aware of high failure rates with the Formatter boards in the HP2420, the HP3005 and the HP615 Network Interface Cards. Searching the HP printer forums we learned some interesting concepts. In the printer repair field the failure rates of these items is epidemic. Theories mostly centered on heat factors as the cause. Our testing and research seems to show that vibration is the most likely culprit. A secondary consideration is the different heat induced expansion and contraction rates of the chip and the board it is mounted on. These printed circuit cards have special processor chips that are surface mounted on the card with a Ball-Grid-Array soldering technique. The chip has a tiny blob of solder on each contact instead of a protruding pin. The board is coated with rosin, the chip is placed on the board then the board goes through an oven. The temperature must be at least 361° Fahrenheit to melt the solder. The boards we are working with were soldered with lead based solder. Later boards using the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compatible solder need higher temperatures to melt the lead-free so
caused by faulty cables or corrupt data being sent to it.Is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks Respond to this 1 49.XXXX PRINTER http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/30528 ERRORTo continue turn off then onNo error message will be in event log.A https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/619596-error-code-of-49-4c02-for-hp-p4014dn-and-p4015x-printers critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, error hp poor connections, or homegrown applications. On rareoccasions, the formatter is at fault, which is usually indicated by a 79 Service Error.1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory.2. Turn the printer off and then back on.3. Try printing a job from a different software application. If the job prints, go back tothe first application and try printing a different file. If the 49.4c02 error hp message appears only with a certain software application or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.4. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or PC.5. Turn the printer off.6. Remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM in slot J1.)7. Remove all EIO devices from the printer.8. Turn the printer on.9. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and back on as you install eachdevice.10. Replace a DIMM or EIO device if you determine that it causes the error.11. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer.12. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM.13. Replace the formatter and calibrate the printer. Can you suggest any alternative ways to upgrade firmware. Thanks. I checked here http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/upgradeMigrateDisplay/?sp4ts.oid... Make sure all documents have been removed from the printers' print queues, then reset the printers. You can sometimes view the offending document in the print queue and see that someone tried to print the same corrupted document, usually a PDF file, to each of the printers and that single document is the source of your issue. 5 Jalapeno OP craigliu Oct 28, 2014 at 10:00 UTC Thanks for your response. But I still want to upgrade firmware firstly because our printers' firmware has never been upgraded since purchase. For our issue, if unplug the network cable, then the printer is OK. After plugging the cable, this error code will be displaying. 0 Anaheim OP jaib Oct 28, 2014 at 10:57 UTC Firmware update fixed that error for us for the majority of the HP's we had getting that error. We were able to update the firmware via the printer's management page. It was usually a pdf print triggering the code on printers with outdated firmware. 1 Datil OP DEngelhardt Oct 28, 2014 at 10:58 UTC Network cable? Does the Data light b
