it will go through. The error I'm getting is instant, in my inbox, making me think it does not reach the ISP or SMTP server. Must be something internal, in Outlook. Any settings I can change to avoid this? Here is the recap: In 2003, the Can't Spam Act was implemented. Since then, large email hosting companies like GoDaddy have had to constantly balance the filters on their servers. If a certain email account gets flagged as spam, sometimes the entire server gets shut down until GoDaddy can either adjust the filters or weed out the problem customer who is spamming. This causes a lot of other emaile

I'm not saying this out of spite or any distaste for Godaddy, but it is http://greenwireit.com/blog/2013/05/15/fix-godaddy-552-message-rejected-spam-virus-content/ an ongoing issue that has only affected them. Furthermore, they are the only ones that can resolve it. What's the problem? To explain what's going on here, first we need to explain how mail providers combat spam. Typical spam filters use a point system to determine how reputable an email is. These points affect whether or not a mail is viewed as reputable enough to be delivered or not. Mail that meets this threshold for trust is typically delivered, and mail that does not is typically either marked as spam or treated with additional scrutiny. Examples of Things that Build Trust Properly configured SPF Record DKIM Signed Email Reputable SMTP Sender Reverse DNS name matching name of sending Server Examples of suspicious traits No SPF Record, or sending from unlisted server Coming from a SMTP Server with a history of bad behaviour E-mail never received from recipients domain Now, typically the goal of e-mail administrators is to build as much trust as possible in the eyes of the receiving mail server. Typically e-mail admins will go to great lengths to maintain deliverability. The GoDaddy Problem This all started a few years ago

For example when Exchange sends an e-mail to another host via SMTP, the message size may change due to the encoding used to package it. This is doubly true for messages with attachments, since the only way to send e-mail attachments is to convert them from plain ASCII to MIME or UU-encode the message. Even if an attachment is less than the size limits proscribed by Exchange, it may not be accepted because its MIME-encoded or UU-encoded size is too big. This happens most often when administrators set limits for inbound SMTP mail. An incoming MIME-encoded e-mail with attachments can increase in size anywhere from 30% to 40%, depending on how many separate attachments, line breaks, MIME headers or other non-data elements are in the message. The exact size can vary enormously, especially since mail systems all behave a little differently when converting e-mail and attachments to MIME. The same problem exists in reverse, where messages sent from your d
