How To Redirect 404 Error Page In Php
setting relative link ErrorDocument 404 /404.html works for the main domain but will not work for subdomains as they have a separate root. i have a lot of subdomains so dont want to maintain error pages for all subdomains separately and putting error pages inside root of each subdomain doesnt seem to be a good option. any approach or methods you can suggest will be appreciable. apache .htaccess redirect http-status-code-404 custom-error-pages share|improve this question asked Jul 30 '14 at 21:01 Shubham Badal 591828 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Because subdomains have separate roots, they cannot access error pages using relative paths, i.e. by going up in directory. Possible solution for common error page for entire website like this will be to use absolute path for error pages, but this will execute a redirect and the URL in address bar will change. Or what you can do it, use a back-end solution like PHP or Django to deliver consistent error pages for all subdomains. share|improve this answer answered Aug 9 '14 at 12:08 Ashish Gupta 554826 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy a

Academy Blog HubSpot User Groups ? Quick answers COS-General Why is my connected subdomain bringing me to a 404 error page? Last updated: October 6, 2015 When you connect a Domain to HubSpot and set it as the primary for a specific content type you’re letting severs across the globe know that when a user enters www.domain.com/anything they should be looking at the HubSpot server for the requested content (your pages). When a user enters just the domain or subdomain into the browser’s address bar the request looks for a page hosted at the root level (or with a url of “/”). To configure your root/index page in HubSpot’s COS platform you need to create a page on that domain/content type that has a url of “/”, or a URL mapping that transfers all incoming requests for the root index page and redirects them to a different page, otherwise the request for the root page will produce a 404 response in the browser.
