It seems like the first does not do anything, but the latter does (in my web application). Why are there two, and what is the difference? iis-7.5 custom-errors share|improve this question edited Jan 12

These would be shown when a regular .html page encounters an error. There are two different areas in web.config for controlling the custom error pages. share|improve this answer answered Jan 12 '13 at 9:13 Earl James 364 So, .net error pages happen when it is a server-side issue; while error pages happen when it is an html issue. Okay, then, when I create custom error pages, should I or can I point both types to the same page? –bgmCoder Jan 12 '13 at 21:01 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
