Windows 8.1 Update Windows 8 & 8.1 Tutorial "Error (84FF): System Event Log Full" Message http://osdir.com/ml/linux.redhat.ia64.general/2002-04/msg00014.html Appears at the End of POST on 9115 or 9210 Servers Affected Products: ServersAffected Operating Systems: event log Not OS DependentISSUE: During the Power on Self-Test (POST) of a 9115 or 9210 server, the following error message may appear in red. "Error (84FF): System event log full" The server may pause event log full at this error or continue to startup. RESOLUTION: This behavior is by design. The server continues to start normally and is not otherwise impacted. By default, the BIOS Setup Utility is configured to not pause on this error message. Note: Some server models overwrite the oldest events when the SEL becomes full. However, on the 9115 and 9210 servers, events are no longer logged when the log becomes full. Normally one uses an x86 machine for this. On an x86 machine running RHL 7.2, build an application normally, then copy it to the Itanium machine, along with any shared libraries it needs, and it should work on the Itanium machine. If you wanted to build on the Itanium machine itself, you would need a cross compiler. It should work in theory, but I don't know if anyone has tried this. Red Hat does not provide RPMs for this. It would be simpler and faster to just do the build on an x86 machine. Jim Next Message by Date: RE: How to Clear System Event Log ? You only see one because the other
