For example, verify you are not using a 32bit CD instead of a 64bit CD. You need a 64bit kernel to run 64bit code, so check your architecture. Assuming you mounted your system to be chrooted in /media/sda1, to determine the architecture you can: ls /media/sda1/* if you see lib64 in the output, it's probably a 64bit system share|improve this answer edited Jul 11 '11 at 9:36 4levels 1135 answered Nov 21 '10 at 11:

I've seen that it's possible to do using static qemu by copying the binary into the chroot system: $ cp /usr/bin/qemu-arm archarm-chroot/usr/bin But despite this I always get the following error: chroot: failed to run command ‘/bin/bash’: Exec format error I know this means that the architectures differ. Am I doing something wrong? chroot qemu arch-arm share|improve this question edited Mar 11 '15 at 20:46 jasonwryan 34.8k983133 asked Jun 28 '12 at 22:33 Jivings 4151311 1 You have to configure binfmt first, have a look at wiki.debian.org/QemuUserEmulation for a quiet short introduction. An example for configuring binfmt_misc can be found at svn.kju-app.org/trunk/qemu/qemu/qemu-binfmt-conf.sh –Ulrich Dangel Jun 28 '12 at 23:00 Qemu static packages don't appear to be in the Arch repositories. –Jivings Jun 28 '12 at 23:04 1 Sorry i don't use arch, but you should probably be able to build a static qemu package by adding -static to the linker options –Ulrich Dangel Jun 28 '12 at 23:07 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes

Owner Fornoth commented Dec 10, 2015 Do you know if the OS is softfloat or hardfloat? and RPi 1 or RPi 2? Also, which libspotify_embedded are you using? djmaze commented Jan 2, 2016 It's probably the Rocki one because he uses the pre-built chroot script. isabido commented Jan 13, 2016 I have the same error. My hardware is RPI2 with Archlinux. To make it work I have to run the script line by line. Entering the chroot environment. and manually run the python. In my chroot there is no bash. djmaze commented Jan 13, 2016 Okay, I changed the script to use the full path (/bin/bash). Should work now. You need to change the script accordingly or just redownload it: curl -O http://spotify-connect-web.s3-website.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/spotify-connect-web.sh isabido commented Jan 13, 2016 Thanks!!!! Now its Ok 😉 klokop commented Jan 14, 2016 Nope, still getting the same error. On an Ubuntu/Xeon system this time. djmaze commented Jan 14, 2016 @klokop spotify-connect-web uses a spotify library from ARM-based receivers and thus works only on systems running the armel/armhf architecture, e.g. Raspberry Pi. (We should probably document that fact better.) You could try librespot on your x86 machine instead. klokop commented Jan 14, 2016 I figured as much. Will try on Pi. thx. It's all working now. Thanks! 1337sup3rh4x0r commented Jun 23, 2016 I just ran into the same issue when trying to install this on a debian x64 system. So can this be resolved by just exchanging a binary within the chroot at some place or does it need more changes than that? djmaze commented Jun 23, 2016 @1337sup3rh4x0r This software depends on a spotify library binary which can only be found on ARM-based re
