Below is the first screen you will see after POST, followed by the bugcheck information. Here is the detail bugcheck information: The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a(0x00000000,0x00000000) The second parameter “0xc000003a” resolves to “STATUS_OBJECT_PATH_NOT_FOUND”. Apologies in advance if I miss anything or if it's a bit disjointed.I have a 120GB SSD (OCZ) to replace the 300GB HDD in my laptop. - Fatal System Error c000021a - 0xc000003a Discussion in 'Software' started by mom9497, Sep 2, 2013. mom9497 Private E-2 I hope someone can help me with this. I'm a newbie and not computer savvy so please bare with me. Our Dell laptop m1530 (vista) is showing the BSOD with the following message....STOP:c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down. I have tried Repair Your Computer, running it in Safe Mode, and Last known Good Configuration with no success. All it does is show a blue screen with writing on it for a split second, reboots itself, and then back to BSOD. I've tried running the original DVD that came with the laptop but that doesn't seem to work either. The disc loads and then just hangs on a black screen with a white cursor. I've also tried removing and putting back the hard drive and ram sticks, but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try next or if this problem is even fixable? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. mom9497, Sep 2, 2013 #1 satrow Major Geek Extraordinaire Welcome to Majorgeeks! That's a tough one, best summed up here by Andre Ziegler I think: Bug Check 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED The STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED bug check has a value of 0xC000021A. This means that an error has occurred in a crucial user-mode subsystem. This error occurs when a user-mode subsystem, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS) , has been fatally compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed . In response, the operating system switches to kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, this is one of the few cases where the failure of a user-mode service can shut down the system. Mismatched system files can also cause this error. This can occur if you have restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs might skip restoring system files that they determine are in use. 0xc000003a = STATUS_OBJECT_PATH_NOT_FOUND The path to the csrss.exe is wrong. Try a repair installation.Click to expand... Vista needs a repair installation, the problem may have been caused by malware so after a repair, you'll need to check for any remaining malware. satrow, Sep 2, 2013 #2 mom9497 Private E-2 Thanks so much for your reply Satrow.
