I have a form where it adds a new data into a field in a table in a database. Code: Private Sub Command1_Click() AddContact.Recordset.AddNew MsgBox "Added Contact" End Sub I compile, then when I click the button, I get an error: Code: Run-time error '3426': This action was cancelled http://forums.codeguru.com/showthread.php?319691-Recordset-AddNew-error by an associated object. I then click Debug, and it highlights the line: Code: AddContact.Recordset.AddNew I have tried inserting AddContact.Recordset.Update and things like that, but I keep getting this error. Can anyone help? But then you go to modify two other fields that aren't in the recordset. That's not going to work. Is CardNo a unique key in the table? If your recordset doesn't include a unique key (maybe event the primary key), I don't think you're going to be able to add records to the recordset. -- Dirk Goldgar, MS Access MVP www.datagnostics.com (please reply to the newsgroup) Dirk Goldgar, Apr 15, 2005 #1 Advertisements Guest Guest That was it.
