reinstalling the software, I restored my system back to before I even had this version printer. I installed the software then and deleted my old printer from my computer. The HP Director software worked fine. I have not used HP Director since then. http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/29361 But today, I used it and instead of opening the program, it immediately comes up with this error message:HP Director application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.I don't know what's wrong with it. Has anyone else had http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/hp-scanner-errors-need-help/ this problem or know how to fix it? I'd rather not reinstall the software (I don't think that should change anything anyway), but I guess I'll try if no one can think of anything else. Thanks! Respond to this 1 The software does work--only hp print HP Director isn't working properly now. It worked after I installed the software, but it doesn't work now. Restoring the system deletes software that was added after the restoration point, so it did delete all of my HP PSC 1315 software. There was no trace of it on my computer before I installed it at that time. I guess I'll just uninstall it and reinstall it now. by Liz on May 23, 2005 at 12:51pm Add comment Please sign in to comment HP Director is not working when I point hp director error this too many times already. - Anonymous 0 Doing a system restore does NOT delete the printer software you installed, it just removes the "reference" to it. You therefore now need to reinstall the software to make it work. If you have any doubts, uninstall the software and reinstall it carefully following the instructions on the computer screen. The problem may be caused by upgrading to Internet Explored 7. Do a site search for lots of discussion on the issue. by Bert on Nov 18, 2007 at 10:31pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Every time I turn on my printer it immediately prints the sheet that's used for aligning cartridges. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling hoping that the problem would be fixed but it still does the same thing. I've wasted a lot of papers already and of course, the ink as well. I've check out HP's website for help, but what they gave me didn't work. The website that I read was (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00043804&dlc=en&product=90787&lang=en&printable=no&encodeUrl=true&). This website explains the exact error I'm having, but the solution doesn't work.2) One of the same computer and another computer, I get a script error that says: "Internet Explorer Script Error: An error has occurred in the script on this page. file:///C:/Program%20Files/Hewlett-Packard/Digital%20Imaging/bbfe/scan/scan.htm" Again HP's website gives me a solution, but if I can't get the HP Director program to work, then this solution is useless too.3) And still another scanner, separate from the previously mentioned machines, is reporting other errors, when I attempt to scan an image
