But it is absent: I've tried on web site with one index.html file... If you mean something else - please advise. I'm not too strong in configuration area. Thanks a lot in advance –Budda May 24 '11 at 6:26 I mean .NET configuration. Seems like something wrong with the ApplicationPool(s) and their configuration! I faced a similar issue when I tried and installed .NET FW v1.1 on Windows 7 x64. The application pools refused to start. So I have to repair the .NET FW 4.0 and reset everything to stock to get things working again. –Nauman May 24 '11 at 7:44 add a comment| 11 Answers 11 active oldest votes up vote 28 down vote I had to start the application pool that was set for my website and

Nov 12, 2011 02:17 AM|HCamper|LINK Hi, Start with Mike's Trouble Shooting guide http://forums.iis.net/t/1144449.aspx. The first steps are Turn On and Enable "Failed Requests Tracing" guide for ASP Errors http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/565/using-failed-request-tracing-to-troubleshoot-classic-asp-errors/. The use Mike's Guide to track the problems with the Reports directory and code. Common problem is the "Application Pools" http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/624/application-pool-identities/process mode. The solution depends on your fixing the Reports code permissions Application Pool Settings which are leading to the 503 error and failures. You may need to load the Reports code in Visual Studio Web Developer to debug and fix the code failures. Why haveyou let this go for 3 months ? The IIS 7Trouble ShootingForums try and help if you post the errors and messages. Martin Windows and Linux work Togethe
TrinderAugust 4, 20097 0 0 0 One fine day, I thought of looking at new OOB modules in IIS and thought of first making sure that my IIS normal https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/vpandey/2009/08/04/http-error-503-the-service-is-unavailable/ pages are working fine or not. We ahead and tried browsing to normal iisstart.htm page under default website. To my surprise I found the following error when http://myblog4fun.com/archive/2013/02/16/http-error-503-service-unavailable.aspx browsing to iisstart.htm page. Service Unavailable ----------------------------------------------------- HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. -- Following is the snap-shot of the error message. Since I http error knew for sure that requests are not even reaching IIS server, so went ahead and looked in the HTTPErr logfile (found in location C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles). Found the following entries in it. #Version: 1.0 #Date: 2009-07-24 02:05:29 #Fields: date time c-ip c-port s-ip s-port cs-version cs-method cs-uri sc-status s-siteid s-reason s-queuename 2009-07-26 13:22:57 ::1%0 49161 ::1%0 the service is 80 HTTP/1.1 GET /iisstart.htm 503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool 2009-07-26 13:24:36 ::1%0 49162 ::1%0 80 HTTP/1.1 GET /iisstart.htm 503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool 2009-07-26 13:27:27 ::1%0 49163 ::1%0 80 HTTP/1.1 GET /iisstart.htm 503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool 2009-07-26 13:29:29 ::1%0 49165 ::1%0 80 HTTP/1.1 GET /time.asp 503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool So we could conclude that Application Pool was getting offline, but the reason for it was not clear. Decided to look into the event viewer, as the application pool was getting disabled, IIS would for sure log it in event viewer. Checked in the System event logs and found the following Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-WAS Date: 26-07-2009 06:29:29 Event ID: 5002 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: COMP2008 Description: Application pool ‘DefaultAppPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.
