We are in process of testing the IBCM functionality of SCCM so configured the following SCCM Infra: error_winhttp_timeout 1. SCCM Site in Native Mode. 2. IBCM Site System placed in DMZ with MP, DP, & SUP Roles. So our scenario is as described hereà Network Diagram https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa383770(v=vs.85).aspx for Internet-Based Servers - Scenario 3 with No SQL Server Replicaà http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693602.aspx). We wish that our laptops can get updates even when they are travelling (IntRAnet or IntERnet management). We installed the SCCM Client on the system using client push (when it was on the CORP LAN) and it has the SCCM Client Certificate installed as well(it’s a https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/3e404b94-724a-4310-91d7-270edaf846e4/internet-based-client-error-errorwinhttpcannotconnect?forum=configmgrgeneral domain joined system). Also configured the CCMHOSTNAME & SMSSITECODEoptions (but have not configured the CCMALWAYSINF=1- Can this be the ISSUE ?) in the Client Push Installation properties. Now when we connect the client system on Internet, it could not connect to the Internet MP. Although the ConfigMgr Connection Type propertyon the client shows Currently Internet, following arethe errors: LocationServices.log: Failed to send request to /SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPLIST2&C01 at host
work on aWindows 2000 server. I can reproduce the problem using the samplecode from MSDNhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/winhttp/http/retrieving_data_using_script.aspThe Sample Code (winhttpSample.js):function getText(strURL){var strResult;try{// Create the WinHTTPRequest ActiveX Object.var http://microsoft.public.winhttp.narkive.com/gL7Oildi/winhttp-error-a-connection-with-the-server-could-not-be-established WinHttpReq = newActiveXObject("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1");// Create an HTTP request.var temp = WinHttpReq.Open("GET", strURL, false);// Send the HTTP request.WinHttpReq.Send();// Retrieve the response text.strResult = WinHttpReq.ResponseText;}catch (objError){strResult = objError + "\n"strResult += "WinHTTP returned error: " +(objError.number & 0xFFFF).toString() + "\n\n";strResult += objError.description;}// Return the response text.return strResult;}WScript.Echo(getText("http://www.microsoft.com/default.htm"));The only change made to the sample code is to useWinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1 instead http error of WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5Running this code results in the following error:WinHTTP error 12029A connection with the server could not be establishedI have verified that http://www.microsoft.com/default.htm isaccessable from the server and the session running the test script byusing IE to open the URL which works fine. Please can anyone Help as I am at a loss as to what the code=12029 text= error problem couldbe and have read the news groups and have been unable to find asolution. Thanks Stephen Sulzer 2004-04-28 22:24:38 UTC PermalinkRaw Message The most likely cause of this problem is that the WinHTTP proxyconfiguration is not set up correctly.Do you need to use a proxy server to access Internet sites? How is InternetExplorer configured? (Check under Tools -> Internet Options ->Connections -> LAN Settings.) By default, WinHTTP will try to accessInternet sites directly, which won't work if a proxy server must be used.WinHTTP does not use IE's proxy settings; it has its own separate proxyconfiguration. To tell WinHTTP what proxy to use, you can either call theSetProxy method on the WinHttpRequest object, or use the WinHTTP ProxyConfiguration tool "proxycfg.exe".The WinHttpRequest object methods (including SetProxy) are documentedon-line at:http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/winhttp/http/winhttprequest.aspYou probably don't have proxycfg.exe on your Windows 2000 machine, so seethe following KB article on how to obtain it (you will have to callMicrosoft PSS):http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830605StephenPost by Third_of_FiveI am having a problem getting WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1 to work on aWind
