Http Error Code 404 File Not Found Dreamweaver Cs5
Hello, I am a new to Dreamweaver, and I was trying to follow the sample application described in the 'Getting Started' from help. Everything went fine up to trying to Creating a Database Connection where I have the 404 error. I realize that it must be something with the location of my files, but I believe I have everything all right. I have followed the example stept by step and all the other tests went just fine. Can anyone please help me get https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWY754K8akA out of this dead end?!Thank you in advance !Regards,Dan Replies DanBread Replied 15 Nov 2006 13:57:51 Hello There, Did you find a solution to this problem in the end? I only ask as I am having the exact same problem. It is so damned frustrating, spent the past 2 days trauling google and various forums and there seem to be so many conflicting instructions. I am using xampp by the way and the only thing that I see that seems to be wrong is http://www.dmxzone.com/forum/topic/36615/ in the MinMySQLAdmin window, where under Environment, the MyODBC panel simply says "Not found. Driver 3.51 not found."Christ almighty! I have searched google for a solution to this and as to whether it is even relevent to what I am trying to do (connect to the mysql database in Dreamweaver for a login page for my website) and can never seem to find a straightforward answer to the problem.Any help would be seriously appreciated - for example the information that I have/should have typed into the site definition. Also, why does xampp come with both MySQL and Apache - aren't they both servers?Cheers,Dan AlanC Replied 20 Nov 2006 05:30:20 404 means that the page was not found on the server. That suggests that either it's not been uploaded or there is a link not pointing to the correct placetry looking at the DW view that shows your local site on the right and the server on the left (expand to show - it's like a square in the files panel) from that you should be able to see where your files areanother possible thing to check is that your server does have the database facility, you might have to set the database up in advance and alocate users and passwords first. If your hosting package uses the cpanel control panel you should be able to see the databases fairly quicklybtw my experience is with php and mysql so if it's asp I will not have a clue
Toolbox) Search On this page Issue Reason Solution Applies to : Dreamweaver Issue When I try to create a new Dreamweaver database connection, https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/issue-creating-database-connection-error.html I get an error message saying : HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found Reason There are several possible causes for which this can happen: The testing server is not setup right in the Dreamweaver site definition. Dreamweaver attempts to upload some files on the testing server into the folder you pointed into the site definition and http error then it tries to call them with an HTTP call using the URL base you provided. If the paths are not configured correctly, you will receive this error. The web server is not up and running on the testing server machine. The proxy server as it is configured in thebrowser,is used even for local addresses like localhost, the http error code testing server where you want to connect. Your browser is set to "Work Offline". Solution There are several solutions you can attempt: Go into your site definition from Dreamweaver and recheck all the choosen paths (both folders and URLs). Check the web server status, you may even restart it to be sure. You should change your proxy server configurations in thebrowser to bypass local addresses like localhost.
