We are experiencing it with our Intranet clients on one of our secondary sites. For what it’s worth, we are using native mode. As far as I can tell, the MP is working correctly. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/5dcf7128-f9d7-422f-b060-4fa00c3b4b5a/intranet-clients-failed-in-winhttpsendrequest-api-errorcode-0x2efd?forum=configmgrgeneral I can see the following in mpcontrol.log: There is only one certificate in the store. CryptVerifyCertificateSignatureEx returned error 0x80090006. Certificate has "SSL Client Authentication" capability. Call to HttpSendRequestSync succeeded for port 443 with status code 200, text: OK Http test request succeeded. The function fails with error 12029. If I run it normally (not as a service), the function succeeds. I know WinInet is not supposed to be used in a service, but error 12029 from I though WinHttp should work fine. Any ideas? windows winapi share|improve this question edited Dec 30 '12 at 19:40 David Heffernan 429k27583950 asked Dec 30 '12 at 11:14 user1749421 212 The error code is ERROR_WINHTTP_CANNOT_CONNECT. What arguments do you provide to this API call? –Roman R. Dec 30 '12 at 12:50 I provide the handle from the WinHttpOpenRequest API and all the others are nulls. As I said, the call succeeds when not running from within a service. –user1749421 Dec 30 '12 at 13:05 The succeeding "not service" call does not explain the problem. You need to look at your API calls that lead to failure - bad argument on this or preceding calls. –Roman R.
