Solved Error -18597 with Entourage 2008 and Exchange 2007 Posted on 2008-12-27 Email Protocols MS Server Apps Apple Software 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 4,857 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-30 Background on -18597: users can receive email, but cannot send (or synchronize). It is labeled http error as a username / password issue. I have scavenged the internet and found a lot of good info on this topic. Apparently -18597 can normally be fixed by fixing your email account for login, from the long to short, and so on. I brought this one on myself. I had to make some mods in Exchange 2007 (wanted to get rid of the "you must put https:// instead of http://". ) Basically i changed the code of access to the that error page to redirect the user to https://webmail.domain.com. Something got whacked with permissions and I wound up removing OWA virtual directory and putting it back in using the create-virtualdirectory owa...etc. After that, this is where the -18597 comes in with the entourage users. Outlook users are fine, OWA works fine, no DNS changes were made, and the redirection change i made was changing the HTML in a error page and with the recreation of the OWA vd, which reset the permissions to default which is what they were when i first set this exchange server up over a year ago. Any ideas? Thank you in advance. 0 Question by:deomega22 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bydeomega22 Problem solved the hard way. Go ahead and remove: (EMS, powershell) remove-owavirtualdirectory owa, exchadmin, exchweb, and public IIS (add/remove programs) CAS role (like me, we have one exchange server with hub, mailbox, and CAS) Reinstall everything back as you would for a new install. 0 Message Expert Comment by:ispman222009-01-09 Windows Server 2008 + Exchange Server 2007 + Entourage I am
