If anyone has this same problem, please try verifying that you have enough (64MB+) server memory allocated to Apache/PHP in your server configuration settings. You can also add this to your wp-config.php file: define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64MB'); Third solution: Connect to your website using the FTP client and then go to /wp-content/ directory. There you will see /uploads/ folder. Right click on the uploads directory and give file permission 755. let me know if among three of not working cgreenleaf @cgreenleaf 11 months, 3 weeks ago Solution 1 Worked! Thanks dudes. upload [Resolved] HTTP Error on media upload JohnP @johnp 8 months, 3 weeks ago I have begun getting an unspecified "HTTP Error" when I wordpress cannot upload images try to upload photos since I upgraded to WP 4.4.1 The wordpress images not uploading images are small (under 200 KB) When I de-activated Jetpack Version 3.8.2 the problem resolves. I wordpress the uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads have since upgraded to Jetpack 3.9.0, but this hasn't fixed it. PHP Version is 5.3.6 max_execution_time is 300 memory_limit is 128M Any advice / fixes would https://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-when-uploading-images-17/ be appreciated. https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/ Viewing 15 replies - 1 through 15 (of 29 total) 1 2 → Plugin Author Jeremy Herve @jeherve 8 months, 3 weeks ago While some of Jetpack's modules allow you to customize the look of the images on your site (Carousel, Tiled Galleries, and slideshows for example), the plugin doesn't https://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-on-media-upload-7/ control or change how images are uploaded in your dashboard. That's handled by WordPress itself. You can read more about this common WordPress issue here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/25-imagemedia-uploader-problems Could you go through the steps described there, and let me know if you find the source of the problem? If none of this seems to help, could you add the following to your site's wp-config.php file, then try to upload an image, and check the wp-content/debug.log file for errors? define('WP_DEBUG', true); if ( WP_DEBUG ) { @error_reporting( E_ALL ); @ini_set( 'log_errors', true ); @ini_set( 'log_errors_max_len', '0' ); define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true ); define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false); define( 'CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); define( 'SAVEQUERIES', true ); } Once you have an error, you can replace define('WP_DEBUG', true); by define('WP_DEBUG', false); in the code above. Let me know what you find. JohnP @johnp 8 months, 3 weeks ago Sorry for the delay - I'm travelling and internet is only available sporadically. I've just updated to Jetpack 3.9.1,
(http error) Media Upload not working (http error) mmdrdesigns @mmdrdesigns 3 months, 2 weeks ago I am aware that there are lots of issues and information out there on this problem, but many of them in the forums are 3+ years old. I wondered what the current suggestions are for when the Media https://wordpress.org/support/topic/media-upload-not-working-http-error/ upload gives an http error. I deleted extraneous plugins, had my host company (GoDaddy) check the apache file size limits, and tried deleting extra files that were unused. I have tried using the multi-item uploader as well as the browser uploader. I have not tried an ftp uploader though I am willing to if someone can recommend one for me to use on an old and tired Mac. I am using Jetpack, which I read could be a problem. But I am http error worried that if I deactivate Jetpack, once I reactivate it, the images may not work anyhow. I read somewhere else that I should be current on Flash updates - and I think I am, though I assume that's only an issue with the multi-item uploader and shouldn't affect the browser uploader. Anyone have any current suggestions? Thanks in advance! I found that the only way to get rid of it was to deactivate every plugin you have installed and then reactivate them one by one until you find which one(s) are causing the problem. It isn't always a plugin conflict, but more times then not I found it was. It also doesn't hurt to switch to a different theme to rule out that causing the problem. The Twenty Sixteen and Twenty Fifteen themes are very stable. If you are worried about Jetpack being deactivated causing your site to blow up then I would recommend that you take a full site backup before fiddling around. A quick solution to get around the "http error" is to use Add From Server. mmdrdesigns @mmdrdesigns 3 months, 2 weeks ago Thank you for your response! I did disable Jetpack and tried uploading with the same results. Either I get a visible http error or I just get a blank "?" as the icon for the image with no data attached. I also tried the "Add from Server" plugin and even if the file is on my hosting server and I upload it to the media library, it is still showing up with a blank file. Unless I am using it wrong. Here is what I did using "Add from Server": I uploaded a file to my hosting server, na
