It's our application, but we're trying to specifically replicate a customer's installation so the app folder has been copied entirely from their production server onto our test machine, and then we've created the Virtual Directory and Web Application for IIS manually. I have is that when we access the app, we get the standard IIS security error message: The page cannot be displayed You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please try the following: •Contact the Web site administrator if you believe this directory should allow execute access. HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. Internet Information Services (IIS) Now this is pretty standard, except as far as I can see it's not anything so simple. Mar 17, 2007 07:30 PM|jeff@zina.com|LINK You can always find out if the firewall is an issue by turning it off, but in this case you don't have the directory set with Execute permissions for the ASP.NET process account. ASP.NET is enabled and someone had suggested that in SP2 I need to the Web Service Extensions folder in IIS and allow .asp & .aspx. However, when I go in there, there is nothing. There are 12 sites split into 5 groups. The pages are all asp pages (most are linked to an Access 2000 database but I don't think this is relevant). I test the sites on my laptop using the Dreamweaver (v8) test server option and pressing F12 (Preview in browser). Some of the sites in some groups will run fine whereas others return a 403.1 error.
