We have several experience with IIS7.0 but not so far. We want to shrae folders with WebDAV. Therfore we installed WebDAV as described here (the first few steps): http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/350/installing-and-configuring-webdav-on-iis-7/ We added a new application under SBS Web Applications. This Apps points to a shared folder on a another server. We configured Pass-Throug-Authetification for this App. We enabled Windows-Authnetififation (only) and browsing folder. In the WebDAV(on Application level)we added an Authoring Rule. Now we come to our Problem: If you try to acces the site now, you get the error 500.19. It seems that the web.config cannot be read. We changed Authentification for the physical store an set the Domain-Admin. Thie works fine, but everybody can now access this folder. We have read something about permissions for ISS_USRS but we cannot set them on the memberserver. Can anybody help us please? Thanks a lot. Bye Christian 500.19

In the Enter the object names to select box, type computername\IIS_IUSRS, click Check Names, and then click OK. Note Computername is a placeholder for the computer name. Click to select the Read check box, and then click OK. In the ApplicationHost.config Properties dialog box or in the Web

The environment is Win 2012/iis8 I've read and tried to follow directions for IIS7 and 7.5 but get 500 errors and web config errors. I think it http error 500.19 has to do with the authentication or authoring rules, as I can set a domain admin for the credentials or the user if I am testing with a user folder and it will go through - but that's not what we are looking to do. That seems to leave it wide open. I am not an IIS guy and my searches for info on IIS8 are not giving me the results I need. Any direction that may help is greatly appreciated. webdav iis-8 share|improve this question asked Oct 11 '13 at 13:49 eric.s 279211 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Are you getting a HTTP error 500.19 cannot read at //UNC/Path/web.config?
