Short Simple way Change the Application Pool mode to one that has Classic pipeline enabled. Correct way Your web.config / web app will need to be altered to support Integrated pipelines. Normally this is as simple as removing parts of your web.config. Simple way (bad practice) Add the following to your web.config. See http://www.iis.net/ConfigReference/system.webServer/validation

HTTP Error 500.22 - Internal Server Error IanM Posted on Feb 12 2015 Hi, Just telerik web ui webresource axd is missing in web config starting out evaluating RG. Followed the instructions for MVC and I now get a "HTTP Error 500.22 - Internal Server Error An ASP.NET setting has http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7370513/http-error-500-22-internal-server-error-an-asp-net-setting-has-been-detected been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode." I was hoping this would be a easy as described but do I need to make changes to IIS Express ? (although site is broken when I upload to Azure also) Any help greatly appreciated - sorry just a beginner. http://raygun.com/forums/thread/17425 Mindscape Raygun Posted on Feb 12 2015 Hi Ian, Sorry to hear you're having trouble. This is usually a sign that you have enabled Classic pipeline mode, or have .NET 2 enabled on your IIS site. Could you take a look at this thread and let me know what solution fixes it for you? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7370513/http-error-500-22-internal-server-error-an-asp-net-setting-has-been-detected I suspect it's just enabling the integrated pipeline which shipped with IIS7 many years ago. Also make sure your App Pool is set to use something like .NET 4. Visual Studio 2013 does not fully support Windows Server 2003, http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-2013-compatibility-vs.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2012/05/18/a-look-ahead-at-the-visual-studio-11-product-lineup-and-platform-support.aspx As you cannot even install VS 2013 on Windows Server 2003 machines, there is no possibility for you to debug ASP.NET apps there on IIS 6. Even remote debugging won't work. You have to stick to VS 2010. 2. VS 2013 ships with IIS 8 Express. I think that's what you called "IIS 8". They are different things. If you use VS 2013 on Windows Vista and above, you can only debug with IIS 7/7.5/8/8.5 that ships with the OS, or IIS 8 Express. In that case, you need to learn about IIS 7 from http://learn.iis.netas it is simply different from IIS 6.
