Also, if the URL isn't to an actual file or if it's to a directory without an appended slash, you may get the 405 error. Another way to debug this is to use ethereal or some network monitor to see what is actually getting sent. Reply ksingla 1068 Posts Microsoft Re: HTTP Error Code 405 method not allowed Oct 12, 2008 03:06 PM|ksingla|LINK Yes. If you know which handler is picking the request, make sure handler is configured to allow POST verb. If you don't know which handler is picking the request, send a http request from the local IIS7 machine which will give you detailed error message w

I am trying to establish a connection between Dreamweaver CS5 and my remote database. I have IIS installed and it is running fine. When I go to select "Recordset" http error code under the Database menu in Dreamweaver and hit "Test" to test the connection, it gives me: HTTP Error Code 405 Method Not Allowed I have searched high and low for a solution to this and implemented nearly everything I've found, including: 1) Adding my IP address to the allowable IPs in my remote mysql admin panel 2) Changing permissions of the folders on my local machine (IUSR and other groups) 3) Trying to connect to my database in Dreamweaver CS3 - no success. 4) Disabled "Friendly Error Messages" in Internet Explorer to get a better idea of what this error means (to no avail, same error keeps popping up) 5) Made sure I could connect to my database using alternate means - I can through a shell and other programs. 6) Installed a "workaround" given by Adobe on their website. It hasn't worked. 7) Made sure I entered my database information into the appropriate fields correctly. Check. I don't know what choices or solutions may be left to me. I have definitely entered all of the database information correctly, yet when I click on Connect or Test Connection, Dreamweaver immediately gives me a "HTTP Error Code 405 Method Not Allowed" error. I'm wondering if this could be something screwy on DH's side. I have researched this up and down, tried nearly everything except manipulating server-side attributes or config files as some people have done on other non-Linux platforms. Even tried a fix given out by Adobe itself - no dice. What could be wrong here? 08-15-2010, 10:47 AM Post: #2 sdayman Grizzled Veteran Posts: 6,148 Joined: Feb 2006 RE: Dreamweaver HTTP Error Code 405 That's weird that it's an HTTP error, but I don't use DreamWeaver.
