So far, I've been able to just restart several times and it eventually powers on and works. I'm afraid it's going to eventually NOT power on and whenever possible I don't even cut my computer off. Does anyone know what this error code is and what I need to do to fix the problem? I am so far from knowledgeable when it comes to the internal operations of computers that I have no idea where to even begin to look for answers on my own.Thanks.Debbie I have this question too 0 Kudos Reply ajkula66 Guru Posts: 7,626 Kudos: 768 Solutions: 804 Registered: 11-23-2007 Locati

On one occasion, it went into a selftest routine, and the system board showed the following faults:- "DEV 086, ERR 22, and FRU 0010", no idea what that signifies....trackpoint again? Also, like my own machine, it just sort of siezes up when half way through the Memory test.I don't know what this signifies, but my own machine seems to work OK so I'm assuming it's not terminal! EDITSince found this, viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17011&view=previous which seems to say that this (the system board reported faults) is just underlining the "error 8611"that appears upon boot. Regarding the concluding post, I'm not sure what "worked great", so it's still a bit of an enigma Top Profile Reply with quote RealBlackStuff Post subject: Re: Thinkpad 600E with "error 8611"PostPosted: Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:08 am Offline RBS15000 Joined: Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:17 am Posts: 16404 Location: Mt. N.Khan (author) steveastrouk5 years agoReplyi really need to go to a lot of trouble to do dat, (ibm service center is pretty far) ,, but i didnt try bcoz the battery error only comes a few times, mostly its oksteveastrouk N.Khan5 years agoReplyI think hitting it with a hammer and attacking it with a lighter will have killed any chances of making it work properly now. N.Khan (author) steveastrouk5 years agoReplyowwh come on!!!, it still gives the same damn error msg 8611 , and i only tried to burn off the plastic around a broken screw and when failed later on broke it with a hammer, ,,, What do u have to say about this so called 8611 ??AndyGadget N.Khan5 years agoReply See my link for a suggested fix for the 8611 code, but from the errors you're getting and the treatment you've given it since, I think you should stop wasting your time on this and get hold of something a bit more functional. And a word of advice - laptops will work for a lot longer if you treat them with some degree of care.Vyger N.Khan5 yea
