Unspecified Error When Opening New Form Reply Contact Good evening... I think I managed to publish a corrupt form and can't seem to fix it. I'm on IP 2010 and publishing to MOSS 2007. Everything was working fine, and then I realized I had some fields that were not bound and needed to fix. I saved a current copy of my form in case things

went bad and then proceded to "fix" the problems with my unbound fields. To do that, I needed to recreate a view so that some groups were in there for the fields to be bound to. Great, though all was good... STUPIDLY didn't preview the form...and published to my site. I went to open a new form so I could perform the Save/Update and voila... the ever descriptive Unspecified Error. "Infopath cannot open a new form. Form template: http://opstd.uhc.com/onesite/intake/LD_Request_Submission/Forms/template.xsn Unspecified error"So, here's what I've tried doing in order to fix the issue:- I opened my saved copy of the previous version that worked, saved with the correct name and published. Still getting the error- I cleared my cache. Still getting the error- I checked the 'old' form for errors. No errors- I opened the list in Explorer View thinking I could go in and delete the template... Explorer view is not showing the Form folder that holds the template. I am now at a loss as to how to fix this one. I exported the source files of the 'old/good' form, but am still debating saving the manifest as the normal file and tryin
TheProblem… → A Fix For When InfoPath Forms Error Out When Launching From AURL… Posted on 2013/02/22 infopath cannot save unspecified error | Leave a comment We recently started running into a infopath cannot open the following form the file is not a valid xml document problem when some individuals would try to launch an InfoPath form (running in the InfoPath client)
Dtd Is Prohibited Infopath
from a URL. It would work for most other people, but not for them. The error started with "The form template is not currently browser-enabled"… Uh, yeah… http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/24038/83249.aspx I know that! We finally found that the problem was with Internet Explorer version 9 (IE9) and the Compatibility View setting. Unless your particular site where the InfoPath form resides is set to use Compatibility View in IE9, IE will attempt to launch the InfoPath form in the browser no matter what you do. https://sharepointduffbert.com/2013/02/22/a-fix-for-when-infopath-forms-error-out-when-launching-from-a-url/ Here's the fix to correct that problem: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ieitprocurrentver/thread/30506a8a-b368-4873-ad32-e931341e6e0e It's a quick fix, but not an intuitive one based on the error message. Make sure to put this at the top of your "check first" list if your InfoPath forms suddenly think they're browser-enabled for random people… Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading... Why does this happen The form is based upon a Word table plus option buttons, date picker andtext button Also the bullet and numbering tool provides only 1. for a vertical column in the table Chuck, Apr 6, 2006 #1 http://www.office-forums.com/threads/infopath-cannot-save-the-following-form-unspecified-error.93458/ Advertisements Show Ignored Content Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question?
