you can open the InfoPath form again. ADVERTISEMENTS Problem Your client had an InfoPath infopath parameter is incorrect developer (someone you do not know) build an InfoPath form template and then publish it to a SharePoint server at your infopath cannot open a new form. the form template is trying to access client's site. You do not have access to the SharePoint server where the form template was published, neither do you have direct access to the InfoPath form template the other person created and deployed to SharePoint. https://sharepointduffbert.com/2013/09/04/fixing-the-infopath-cannot-open-the-following-file-xxxxxx-the-parameter-is-incorrect-problem/ To keep this scenario simple, let's assume that the InfoPath developer did not add code to the InfoPath form template, so you're dealing with a codeless InfoPath form template that was deployed to a SharePoint Form Library. The InfoPath form template is not doing exactly what your client wants it to do, and the InfoPath developer has since left the company. Now your client wants you to take a look at the http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2010/open-infopath-form-template-moved-copied-different-location-computer.htm form template and troubleshoot the form template and an XML file that was created using that form template, so your client sends you both the XML file and the original InfoPath form template that was deployed to SharePoint. Now when you try to open the InfoPath form, you get the following error message: InfoPath cannot open the following file:

I have created an InfoPath 2007 form and published it to a SharePoint 2007 site as a Shared Library Template. When I went to see if the form worked on some of the users computers, it works on some users machines, and unfortunately on some users machines it does not. The two most common errors I am getting are (1) Unspecified error and (2) the "Following infopath cannot open file is either missing or not part of the form template". For both error messages, the error is occurring when the users clicks on "New" within the Share Documents Library. The form fownloads to the users computer and starts to open. While, opening, the error message appears. For the "Unspecified Error" message, I have discovered that if I put the file somewhere in a shared file directory on our network, the users can open the file without issue. The error only occurs when they try to access the file with SharePoint. For the "Missing File" issue, when the users open the file from the SharePoint, it is indiciating it is missing a .dll. When I had the user try and access the file on a shared directory on our network, the users get the following error message "InfoPath cannot build the Visual Basic or C# code. The Visual Basic or C# project for this form template cannot be found". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form cache error Posted by Ivan Versluis / June 4, 2008 / 1 Comment For weeks my local Infopath 2007 installation failed to open forms located on SPS server. See warning below. InfoPath cannot open the following file: http://sharepoint/ChangeMgmt/Forms/abc.xml InfoPath cannot open the form. To fix the problem, contact your system administrator. Form template: http://sharepoint/ChangeMgmt/Forms/solution.xsn. There is an error in the form's cache. To correct the error, open the form again. This was my solution is solving the problem. Before you start clean the Internet Explorer Cache! For Windows Vista Locate C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\InfoPath\FormCache2 and delete complete folder. If this fails than rename the subfolders to something else like abc and try again. I got a warning and the action failed if I did not rename the folder. Run C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12>INFOPATH.EXE /cache clearall For Windows 2000/XP Locate C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\InfoPath\FormCache2 and delete the folder. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12>INFOPATH.EXE /cache clearall After these steps my Infopath forms opened again 😉 Posted in Office 2007 March 16, 2012 Kevin THANKS!!!
