As you can see Status is set to Ready and nothing is selected for Color. This is when validation kicks in: Below is the error message users receives when the above is met. This works perfectly. The only issue is that it is infopath cannot open an ugly message and if user does not pay attention they will not see the reason for the warning shown below: However, the below example is what I have seen at another site which had a nicer looking error message that details why the form is not letting the user submit. I'm not sure on how this was made but I would like to know how to display a friendly error message on the form if the condition, stated earlier above, is met. Please advise as any help is appreciated. infopath error validation infopath-rules share|improve this question asked Apr 15 at 16:50 Aspire27 413210 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Create a text field called "Error." And instead of having a validation rule, make it an action rule that sets "Error" to be whatever you want it to be. And then another rule to clear Error when conditions are met. You can format your text field to look anyway you want. share|improve this answer answered Apr 15 at 18:15 Ramana Viswanadha 46310 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your

Yesterday, I got an old Infopath 2013 file, which was migrated from 2010(at least collegue I got it from says so), including code but not documentation, which we are using in internal SPS. I was supposed to add one field and move on. However, I can't even preview the file(file is unchanged). After some Googling I got some hints, that it may be due to file being copied&pasted and I follow tutorial on how to fix it - but to no effect. There is an error message, yes. As you can see on image below, not even a little bit helpful. This error was sometimes related to code, but after setting breakpoint in code, nothing happens, as if it was never hit. Not even InternalStartup(). I tried moving everything to a folder with shorter path, publishing using settings[same(probably?) error as with preview], unlinking/removing code, checking the code, publishing elsewhere(no error, still cannot preview). Did it happen anyone else, and what can I do to fix it? infopath share|improve this question asked Oct 14 '15 at 6:51 Paweł Mach 1337 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted Oh well...
