Your default folder name contains / in LONGFILENAME part. SHORTFILENAME|LONGFILENAME Answered 06/21/2012 by: jagadeish Please log in to comment ogeccut 4 years ago Should i change it to: 4_9_DO~1|4.9|doc|html in the directory table? jagadeish 4 years ago It is wrong.. You should not have / in your folder name.. | symbol shoud not be used like this.... There is no chance of getting this folder name when you capture an exe and create msi.. I don't know how did you get a folder name like this.. jagadeish 4 years ago To include a long file name with the short file name, separate it from the short file name with a vertical bar (|). For example, the following two strings are valid: Status.txt Projec~1.txt|Project Status.txt Short and long file names must not contain the following characters: \ ? | > < : / * " In addition, short file names must not contain the following characters: + , ; = [ ] No space is allowed preceding the vertical bar (|) separator for the short file name/long file name syntax. Short file names may not include a space, although a long file name may. A space can exist after the separator only if the long file name of the file name begins with the space. No full-path syntax is allowed. Please log in to comment Answers 0 I changed it to:4_9_DO~1|4.9\doc\html and still getting the error:Error 2714. Invalid value for default folder name: 4_9_DO~1|4.9\doc\html. And now whenever I start my setup (it seems like as soon as it hits the MSI part of installer error 2714 the setup) it throws up a message saying "Internal Error 2714"... then it quits. What the heck is that? I don't want to have to go through recreating this entire thing which has taken me a long time to do. Does anyone know how to fix that? I think the easiest way to figure this out will be to run MSI validation on the build package to figure out where exactly the issue occurs. You can do this from the IDE (Build | Validate) or use ORCA to validate the package.
