Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Answer Hi ebensing, Error 15271 occurs when a file cannot be validated. This is commonly received while doing payroll updates, however, you can also receive this one while doing the QuickBooks update. Many times, this error can be resolved by turning off the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows, then update your software again. Make sure to close your QuickBooks before turning it off. After this, reopen your QuickBooks, then do the update. If it’s successful, don't forget to turn on the User Account Control (UAC). If you get the same result, please restart your QuickBooks. If the QuickBooks Update Service message window appears, click Install Later, and then reset your QuickBooks release update: At the top menu, click Help. Choose Update QuickBooks. Click Update Now. Check the box next to Reset Update, then click Get Updates. When the "Update Complete" message appears, close and reopen QuickBooks. If you get the message to install update, click Install Now. When the installation is complete, restart your computer. Let me know if this works when you get a chance to try it and we’ll take it from there. Was this answer helpful? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Thank you for trying, but it did not work because I am running W10. There is no "Settings" under user accounts so you cannot take those steps to turn of UAC. The good news is that I looked a responses to similar questions below your response and found that all I had to do was right-click the desktop icon and "Run as an Administrator". Thanks. ebensing Comment View more No answers have been posted This post has been closed and is not open for comments or answers. More Actions Notify me of new answe

We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines: Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up.
