I'm here to tell you a fix. Exit Steam and locate your configuration *config* folder It's located at C:\Program Files\Steam It says config, Now Delete that folder, make sure you have steam exited, Then start steam up again and it'll possibly ask you to login on this computer, do so and allow it. It's not the game that's wrong it's your folders being out of date. If this does not work go to C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\SOMENUMBERHERE\config Open the localconfig.vdf in a notepad file, Just drag it to notepad and then Delete the Steam2Ticket and the long hexidecimal number. Restart steam and try to connect to it. The Third Fix: Delete these files Steam.dll SteamUI.dll or rename the Clientregistery.BLOB file to anything Restart steam and see what happens *this is valve's official fix* If any of those work, you are most welcome - conorf1 conorf1 View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by conorf1 Find Threads by conorf1 06-22-2012, 04:09 PM #2 DoctorRagnarok Join Date: Jun 2012 Reputation: 2 Posts: 6 For me it was just a matter of removing ClientRegistry.blob and localconfig.vdf, then it ran fine. The problem here being that a fair number of users retain the error regardless of the attempted fix, so there is something else going here that needs fixing on Steam's end.
