wont turn on to the screen that lists music, extras, etc. When I try to turn it on apple ipod support phone number I see the apple logo, then it shows the folder with an exlimation mark and a message under the folder which reads: www.apple.com/support/ipod. This website doesnt exist anymore. The ipod repeats www.apple.com/support/ipod error that process indefinently. When I attempted to hook it up to my computer, itunes locked up and ceased to funcion (itunes like 6.something). The my computer screen also froze when I attempted to acess the ipod through it. The first thing the apple support website said to do was make sure I was using the most up to date version of itunes etc,

so I downlaoded itunes 7 and the problem persisted. I read further into the various support articles to find that occasionally setting the ipod to disk mode will make it visable on the computer, it didnt. I had one more idea at this point: unistall itunes 7, put back on an older version that used the ipod updater. So I did. Then I set the ipod on disk mode, ran the ipod updater program on the PC before plugging in the ipod, plugged in the ipod, only to have the program freeze like all the others. I have no clue what to do, I only ask questions when I have exhausted all possibilities that I can do myself. Please help. Notes: the ipod also makes a weird noise when it is trying to connect to the computer or turn on effectively, it sounds like a whirrring noise followed by a click, it repeats occasionally. Troubleshooting and replacing parts is somewhat complex, but we have made it easier below. Note: There are two versions of iPod Classic: thin and thick. The thin version refers to the 80 GB, 120 GB, and thin 160 GB models. The thick version refers to the thick 160 GB model. If into disk mode you are unsure which 160 GB version you have (as some parts are not interchangeable between models), perform the following steps: 1) Locate the serial etched on the rear panel of the iPod 2) Go to Apple's Online Service Assistant and enter your serial number and country 3) Look at the text under the picture on the left. If it reads "iPod Classic," you have the thick version. If it reads "iPod Classic (Late 2009)," you have the thin version. iPod won't turn on¶ No matter what you do, you can't get your iPod to turn on. Hold switch is on¶ Before delving into the guts of your iPod, check to make sure the hold switch isn't activated. If the hold switch is on, the iPod will ignore any input on the click wheel and refuse to do anything. If your iPod's problem isn't so easily solved, read on. Drained/bad battery¶ If your iPod won't turn on, especially if it has not been used recently, you may simply have a drained battery. Plug your iPod into your computer or AC adapter and see if anything happens. Ideally your iPod will recognize it has been connected to a power source and charge its battery. If it will no longer
