How do we analyse System Crash and Kernel Panic Issues Normally we expect we have already configured Kdump to gather necessary vmcore to analyse these kind of issues. If we have vmcore ready we could use the crash utility to do some of analyse of some of the stuff as given below: What is Kdump? Starting in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, kernel crash dumps are captured using the kdump mechanism. Kexec is used to start another complete copy of the Linux kernel
