Solved Error "License Status [1.1.98]" Launching AutoCad 2006 Posted on 2006-12-29 CAD/Architecture Software 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 7,755 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-14 I'm getting the message "License Status [1.1.98]" when launching Autocad 2006 ... and a statement that I should uninstall and reinstall the app. I've been using license error Autocad 2006 for months now with no problems. I searched for the message through Google. Based on the Google search I tried the following: (1) I checked to ensure that I was not running in diagnostic mode (using msconfig) and I was not. (2) I checked to see if there was a taskdir.dll on my computer that had been associated with a Trojan that had caused the problem ... and there is no such file on my computer. Does autodesk license error anyone have any insight into this problem? I can uninstall/reinstall the app but would like a better feel that doing so will solve the problem. If you are able you might want to check with a reseller engineer if you have access to one. Also, the new programs are very particular about hardware - carefully check the system requirements against what hardware you are running. There is a list of approved hardware. If you need help locating the requirements let me know. Seems like most of those issues involved video card combinations. Hope this helps, will check ba

Date/Time Posted: March 17, 2006 11:00 AM Posted By: Kirk Vanooteghem Details: A "license system error" window appears when AutoCAD 2006 is launching. This window also notes that "You must uninstall and reinstall this product to initialize the license management system. If this probelm continues, contact your system administrator or authorized AutoCAD product dealer. License status [29.1.99]" The screen then seemed to freeze for a time, but eventually a Registration/Activation screen appeared that offered the choice to "Get an activation code" or "Enter an activation code." Is there a code we can type in, or does the software have to be uninstalled and reinstalled?
