I thought I'd start this year off with an article to help troubleshoot one of the rarer but most annoying problems license error some people have with Navisworks. Most of the time Navisworks closes unexpectedly, a dialog appears asking you to send some details about what happened and an error report, to us at Autodesk. These are then used to improve the product so we strongly recommend you provide details whenever this happens of what you were doing at the point of the autocad license error crash. However there are occasions, particularly on start-up where an error report is not created. This blog post should help run through a series of steps to resolve the problem, or at least help us in support to narrow down the issue. If this is a Network installation, you should be running the latest License Manager 11.9. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/Autodesk-Network-License-Tools-11-9/td-p/2988862 Delete the Cascadeinfo.cas file. A new one will be created when you start Navisworks again. Turn off Hardware Acceleration in the Navisworks Options > Interface > Display, you can access these options through Programs > Autodesk > Navisworks Manage/Simulate 2012 > Options Editor. If this resolves the problem then the Graphics Card/drivers aren't interacting well with Navisworks. A first step here would be to update the graphics card drivers from the manufacturer's website and re

You bet! | Main | Meet, Greet and Learn » July 12, 2009 Navisworks Installer Error When you try to install Navisworks, the installer lists Navisworks as already being installed, even though it is not. As a result, you cannot proceed and install Navisworks. This problem can occur with Navisworks Manage 2010, Navisworks Manage 2009, Navisworks Review 2010, Navisworks Review 2009, Navisworks Simulate 2010 and Navisworks Simulate 2009. An incomplete uninstall can sometimes leave residual registry keys that may cause the Navisworks installer to detect incorrectly that Navisworks has already been installed. In order to resolve this issue, you must remove the following key from the Windows Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\39497741D131AAB48BF792993B746F9A Once completed, you can proceed with the installation. Note: Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows Registry could render your computer operating system unusable. Microsoft provides a wealth of critical information that you need to know about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Please let us know should you come across this issue and be unable to resolve it. Thank you. So I looked for other keys and I found [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\C49E3147F02E0000E93BFBC4813ADE6A] "ProductName"="Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2010 (32 bit)" and [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\C49E3147F02E9040E93BFBC4813ADE6A] "ProductName"="Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2010 (32 bit) English Language Pack" By deleting this 2 keys (before exported them) the installation check was enabeled. Posted by: DeRoeck | November 17, 2009 at 07:02 AM I can not thank you enough for posting this information. I accidental removed the directory for the Navisworks exporter plugin and could not get the re-installer to work. It continued to show the 64 bit install as "already installed"! I tried uninstalling Revit and Navisworks, reinstalling, registry cleaners only to finally find your post. I looked through the registry and found
