When I saved it there was nothing shown in the rules view so I tried again a couple of times. Now I get 3 of the following messages in statrep.nsf several times a day. "Error registering mail rule 2 for database mail/usermail.nsf: Monitor has already been registered, no action taken." There is still nothing in the rules view. I have tried creating a new view showing everything where Form = "mailrule", doing fixups and compacts and even rolling the design of the mail file back to Mail (R5) to see if the rules would show up. Nothing has worked so far. Has anyone got any suggestions before I have to resort to creating the user a completely new mail file? Return to top Error registering mail rule - invis... performs the designated action. Possible actions include journaling a message, moving it to a database, refusing to accept http://notes.helsinki.fi/help/help8_admin.nsf/f4b82fbb75e942a6852566ac0037f284/a617994d34496ae3852572fa004e48da?OpenDocument or deliver a message, changing the routing state of a message, http://www.lotus-expert.com/en/notes-ini-reference/122-debugmailmaxblockrulesize.html or stopping the processing of subsequent rules. Rule conditions are based on content in the message headers or in the message body. Mail rules automatically handle mail in a variety of situations. By configuring a set of conditions and actions, you can customize rules to lotus domino block spam mail or intercept messages with questionable content. For example, you could create a rule that rejects mail with subjects like "make money fast" or that comes from a known spam vendor. Similarly you can restrict users from receiving message attachments that do not have a business purpose by setting up a rule to lotus domino error intercept messages that contain attachments of certain file types (EXE, VBS, VBE, SCR, and so forth) and redirect them to a quarantine database where they could be reviewed by an administrator and optionally sent on to the intended recipient. Except where a rule action explicitly indicates, Domino does not notify the sender or recipient if a rule prevents a message from reaching its destination. For example, if a rule results in a message being routed to a graveyard database, Domino does not generate a delivery failure report or indicate to the intended recipients that a message for them has been intercepted. By contrast, if a message triggers a rule with the specified two-part action "Don't deliver message/ Send NDR," the sender receives a delivery failure report stating that the message was rejected for policy reasons. Note Although Domino does not generate a notification to the sender when a rule condition triggers the action "don't accept message," because rules execute as mail is deposited to MAIL.BOX

It is recommended that a value of 5000 bytes be useDescription:If the issue continues to occur then lower the value in increments of 1000. Note: It is recommended that the above parameter be applied only in environments experiencing the issue. In order to catch block sender lists that could cause crashes, the fix needs to intercept and decompile all formulas >n and then check if it is a block sender rule. Applying this parameter unnecessarily could introduce a performance slowdown related to formulas. Although the issue occurs at the 15K limit, it can happen at lower limits depending on the platform involved; this is why we recommend using a value of 5000 bytes to ensure server stability. When the parameter is set, and a user has not modified an existing block sender rule list, and the list is greater than n in size, then when the router attempts to deposit a message into a User's mail file it will skip the block sender rule and record the following error in the log: mm/dd/yyyy 19:09:19 Error registering mail rule 1 for database mail/user.nsf: Quoted string is too long. mm/dd/yyyy 19:09:20 Router: Message 0000D394 delivered to Test User/Tst Mail Client * SPR# KTIS5W8NZK - Fixed a router crash which occurred after trying to deliver a message. For this fix, we changed the way we handle stored Blocked lists. The formula will process the list at run time instead of at compile time.
