inner room; unknown os error; link; link page; rooms; child room; parent room Technote (troubleshooting) Problem You click a link that links to an inner room in a place in Lotus QuickPlace or Lotus Quickr™ services for Lotus Domino. You receive the error: "Unknown OS Error" Symptom Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a place. 2. Create a user "Test User" with reader access in the main room. 3. Create a Subroom Room 1. 4. Enter Room 1 and create a subroom "Inner Room 1.1" 5. Enter the Inner Room 1.1 and edit the security section to http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ndseforum.nsf/xpTopicThread.xsp?documentId=8F9F1768E848148B85257E9D000CFFBF give "Test User" access to the room. 6. The error "Unknown OS error" is http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21089959 reported. Resolving the problem This issue occurs when a member has been given access to an inner room, but does not have access to parent rooms above the inner room. Giving users access to all rooms traversed between the main room of the place and the linked room corrects the problem. For example, within the Main room is Room 1. Within Room 1 is Inner Room 1.1. This issue occurs when a member who has access to Inner Room 1.1, but no access to Room 1 attempts to follow a link to Inner Room 1.1. To resolve 1. Edit the security settings in Room 1 and give "Test User" reader access. 2. As "Test User," click the link page again.
