I will see about getting in restored. I have added the text from the technote below: When you access a database on a Lotus Domino server using a Web browser, the database fails to open. The browser displays "Error 500: Unknown OS error." This error occurs when the database has been set as "Out of Service" in the Manage Clusters option under Tools/Database when using the Domino Administrator client. If this "Out of service" option is set the database is not accessible when using HTTP, but it is available for cluster failover. To correct the problem, the database should be returned to service. To do so, place the database on a clustered server if it is not already (the server may be the only server in the "cluster" if it is not currently in a true cluster). Using the Domino Administrator client, Select Files tab; select the database; select Tools/Database; select Cluster, then click option for "In Service". Click OK to complete the change. This error has been seen in cases where the server was not a member of a cluster, in that case it may require making a new copy of the database to resolve the issue. inner room; unknown os error; link; link page; rooms; child room; parent room Technote (troubleshooting) Problem You click a link that links to an inner room in a place in Lotus QuickPlace or Lotus Quickr™ services for Lotus Domino. You receive the error: "Unknown OS Error" Symptom Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a place. 2. Create a user "Test User" with reader access in the main room. 3. Create a Subroom Room 1. 4. Enter Room 1 and create a subroom "Inner Room 1.1" 5. Enter the Inner Room 1.1 and edit the security section to http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ndseforum.nsf/xpTopicThread.xsp?documentId=8F9F1768E848148B85257E9D000CFFBF give "Test User" access to the room. 6. Copy the URL in the browser for Inner Room 1.1. 7. Navigate back to the main room. 8. Create a new link page and insert the URL for Inner Room 1.1. 9. Open a new browser window and login to the QuickPlace as "Test User." 10. Click the link page created for Inner Room 1.1. 11. The error "Unknown OS error" is http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21089959 reported. Resolving the problem This issue occurs when a member has been given access to an inner room, but does not have access to parent rooms above the inner room. Giving users access to all rooms traversed between the main room of the place and the linked room corrects the problem. For example, within the Main room is Room 1. Within Room 1 is Inner Room 1.1. This issue occurs when a member who has access to Inner Room 1.1, but no access to Room 1 attempts to follow a link to Inner Room 1.1. To resolve 1. Edit the security settings in Room 1 and give "Test User" reader access. 2. As "Test User," click the link page again.
