What format are the movies in? What video codec is used? –ngen May http://superuser.com/questions/279690/error-streaming-movies-to-ps3-from-windows-7 5 '11 at 19:21 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote The majority of the time this error comes up because the folder they're in isn't shared. Occasionally though it can be caused by windows media player losing sync with device. If the latter is the case you just need to resync it. An even less likely culprit is the firewall. Some people will tell you to turn it off but this is NOT necessary. Just check it make sure sharing is properly enabled. share|improve this answer answered May 5 '11 at 17:21 Blomkvist 2,1491918 How would I go about resyncing it? The new movies are in the same folder as the old movies and the old movies play fine....its just the new movies that don't. –Paul May 5 '11 at 17:24 Click on your library tab and then click on sync.you should then see an icon in the box that says "unknown device". Click on it and allow the connection. More troubling though is that the old movies STILL play. –Blomkvist May 5 '11 at 17:28 Where is the library tab? Is it on the computer or on the playstation? –Paul May 5 '11 at 18:11 It's in media player on your PC. –Blomkvist May 5 '11 at 18:13 I don't see the library tab in my media player. Maybe I have a different version? –Paul May 6 '11 at 2:04 add a comment| Did you find this question interesting? Try our newsletter Sign up for our newsletter and get o

If you r constantly getting connection interruptions during game-play then here is what u need to do. If u r using a router (no matter the brand), the problem probably has media server to do with the router. In order to find out, disconnect your PS from the router and plug it directly into you modem. If your modem is not near your playstation then move it close to the ps3. The modem plugs directly into your cable line so there is a good chance that the television you play your PS3 on has a cable connection. One you have ps3 media server connected your PS to your modem press the reset button on the modem. Turn your PS on and go directly to your network settings. Click on Internet Connection Test (do not bother trying to set up a connection manually, if you do this chances are you will mess something up). If you are getting a connection then you are ready to go. There is a good chance you may never get a connection interruption again. For the time being you will be able to enjoy playing call of duty like you once did. Now u might ask what am I supposed to do with my router? I need it for my laptop, xbox, etc? Just buy a new one. Chances are the one that you have is garbage. It might have worked great at once, but hey, these things happen. I suggest doing your research and find a router that works well with gaming. I hope this works. In summary, it is not your playstation or your internet service provider that is giving you problems... It is your router... connect your PS to your router to test this theory... I received the DLNA error 2006 when accessing video from my PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked for me was simply disabling and enabling the option of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it takes 30 seconds or more to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that change everything loads in an instant now. Good luck.EDIT:OOOOK, it seems that routers come equipped with a bunch of other options that will also slow down your connection speed. Weird. So in the same area I disabled "green ethernet" "energy efficient" and "flow control." The first 2 for sure have speed impacts, the 3d I'm not sure about, but It hasn't hurt. Just wanted to let people know.BTW after doing this change shuttering on 1080p for me has decreased a ton.Again, good luck.EDIT: I also disabled Interrupt moderation which is supposed to help a lot as well Top Butman Posts: 3 Joined: Sun Apr 12
