Therefore you need to install Java second edition runtime environment (JRE), at least version 7. You can get the latest JRE here. Installation ps3 media server and start of UMS on Windows After installing Java Runtime you can install Universal Media Server. Double-click the setup file and follow the instructions. If you want to put UMS somewhere other than it's default location enter it here, if not select Next This Setup page allows advanced users to change the Java Heap values and conduct a clean UMS install (wipes out any previous UMS saved values, e.g Shared Folders etc.). Select Next to continue Caution: Only change Java Heap values if you know what your doing, UMS uses default values that have been tested over time. UMS will Install, this process could take 2-3 mins. UMS has finished installing. Select Finish to run UMS, To create a shortcut Check the appropriate Check box and Select Finish. Installation and start of UMS on Linux You also need to have Java installed on Linux. You should set environment variable JAVA_HOME to JRE installation path. After that you have to decompress the setup archive for Linux with: > > tar xzf filename.tgz The following packages are recommended and will automatically be used by UMS if they are installed: MediaInfo is recommended for more accurate detection of media information. Quote Postby dryce » Sat Jun 23, 2012 4:14 pm I have just begun using PS3 Media Server. It uses FFmpeg to transcode certain file types. I have been getting the error message Process C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\win32\ffmpeg.exe has a return code of 1! Maybe an error occured... check the log file. The logs, as far as I can tell, don't show a specific reason for the failure. I only receive a data corrupted result on the PS3. I've posted on their board in an attempt to resolve this, but no one has responded. I'm not the only one experiencing this issue and I am wondering if their may be a bug somewhere. I was just hoping you all could tell me a bit more about the error code. I will post the logs here as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Snippet of the log showing error:Code: Select allTRACE 2012-06-21 21:50:01.605 [Request Handler] Wrote on socket:
