Google generates only more questions, no answers.......Has this issue ever been solved by Sony, if so what is the http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Support/Protocol-Error-DLNA-2104/td-p/27588555 solution?????Anyone? - Error ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows Media Player Home » General » Playstation 3 - Error http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000696 ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows Media Player KB ID 0000696 Dtd 12/10/12 Problem My Windows 7 Media Center can't stream to my http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1492936 PS3, but the Windows Media Player that's built into the same PC can, (well it should be able to!) However when I tried, this is what the Playstation media server told me. Media Server Error: A DNLA protocol error (2104) has occurred. Solution Note: Your local firewall on the Windows 7 machine can also cause this problem. I have a decent firewall at home, so I disabled the local firewall on the Media Center, (Start > Run > firewall.cpl). 1. On your Windows 7 Machine open dlna protocol error Windows Explorer (Windows Key+E) > Select Homegroup > View homegroup settings. 2. Make sure you're set to location type Home, if not change it (mine was set to public!). 3. Now "choose what you want to share…". 4. Select as appropriate > Next. 5. Choose Media Streaming options. 6. Allow All, (or if you know the MAC address of the Playstation it will be listed as "Unknown Device" and, (if you can see it on the list), you can add that in on it's own, and allow). 7. Accept the warning. 8. If you allowed all, this is what you should see. 9. Finally open the services (Start > Windows key+R > services.msc {enter}) and ensure that the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" Service is started > Set to Automatic > and set to logon as either the Network Service, or the Local System. Can anyone shed some light on why it occurs? I can access the PSN and net just fine through my router with no issues at all, when I start to stream video I get a few minutes in and the DLNA error comes up. When I check the net connection on the computer it is no longer working (after the DLNA error) I then have to restart the computer (resetting the router does not resolve the connectivity issue) to ge the net connection working again. Never had this issue before the last update or before I started using Windows 7 User #136924 2402 posts cMŖŧN Whirlpool Forums Addict reference: whrl.pl/RcmnoE posted 2010-Jul-22, 1:03 pm ref: whrl.pl/RcmnoE posted 2010-Jul-22, 1:03 pm It may be a poor signal strength from router to ps3 Sending large chunks of data and then it fails... Might be conflicting IP addresses? not sure exactly, for me it was playing around with settings and then just going Ethernet on the damn thing User #366509 105 posts saintcow Participant reference: whrl.pl/RcmnpY posted 2010-Jul-22, 1:08 pm ref: whrl.pl/RcmnpY posted 2010-Jul-22, 1:08 pm O.P. Thanks for the reply, I have the PS3 set up with EOP (so it's wired I guess). Wouls it be possible that the wirless signal from the router is messing up the PS3 even though I have it configured for a wired connection? I have done so much research on this issue, getting very frustrating indeed! There is numerours cases on the net by no definitive answers, very strange.
