Disable the Media Server Connection, back out of the menu, then go back to the Media Server Connection and Enable it again. This should fix the issue. views Edited Aug 11, 2008 I have purchased a new PS3, 40-GB and just updated the firmware to 2.42When I connect to my media how to restart dlna service ps3 center (PC with Windows XP, Mediaplayer 11) through my wireless router(a D-Link DIR 655)I receive a "Protocal Error DLNA 2104" on the PS3, it stops playing whatever I was doing and looses connection with the media center..I have http://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=3562 already replied to another threat on this subject which does not seem to give any answers. What format are the movies in? What video codec is used? –ngen May 5 '11 at 19:21 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote The majority of the time this error comes up because the folder they're in isn't shared. Occasionally though it can be caused by windows media player losing sync with device. If the latter is the case you just need to resync it. An even less likely culprit is the firewall. Some people will tell you to turn it off but this is NOT necessary.
