Since this is a Calendar issue, I would try running "Outlook /cleanfreebusy" If that doesn't work, I'm with Michael J Cooper, we need more info on the environment. 1 Habanero OP ITSlave Mar 25, 2013 at 7:26 UTC Start Outlook in safe mode (all plug-ins disabled) and see if the same thing happens. Nine out of 10 times my Outlook issues have been add-in related. 0 Jalapeno OP Christopher4253 Mar 25, 2013 at 7:36 UTC Thanks guys. I'm looking into all these tips. Sorry for the delay. We had an unannounced fire drill here at school today. 0 Jalapeno OP Christopher4253 Mar 25, 2013 at 8:12 UTC Outlook will not start in Safe Mode. "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license for this application." So it seems to be worse in Safe Mode since I can open Outlook normally as it crashes when I open the calendar. Environment: Exchange. And I must be missing something in my Outlook switch when I type it in because that's failing too. “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE” / cleanfreebusy. 0 Serrano OP Chris9496 Mar 25, 2013 at 8:13 UTC I don't think there is supposed to be a space between / and cleanfreebusy 0 Jalapeno OP Christopher4253 Mar 25, 2013 at 8:18 UTC I think I made that typo here. Comment Filed Under: Office Tagged: Outlook 2016 If you have a problem with Microsoft Outlook 2016 crashing when you try to start it, try the following steps. Fix 1 Visit Microsoft's website to obtain and write down the "Current version" number available for Outlook 2016. At the time of this writing, it is "15.0.4815.1001". Hold down the Windows Key, then press "R" to bring up the Windows Run dialog box. Type one of the following depending on your setup: 64-bit version, type: "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX64\OfficeClickToRun.exe" /update user updatetoversion=(version) 32-bit version, type: "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX86\OfficeClickToRun.exe" /update user updatetoversion=(version) where "(version)" is the version you wrote down in step 1. When prompted, select the options to "Repair" Office. Fix 2 Hold down the "CTRL" key on your keyboard while opening Outlook. Select "File" > "Manage Add-Ins". Now you need to disable plugins to see if they are the root of your issue. If any add-ins are enabled, select the "Disable this add-in" button. Click "Close", then close Outlook. Restart Outlook normally. Hopefully it starts and you are problem free. These steps have fixed Outlook a few times for me and hopefully they help you too.
