You will find it under Tools->Internet Options-> Advanced. By do this and then regenerating the error you will hopefully get a better error message than the one described. Hope this helps... And the problem is not with my asp/mysql because on another server erverything works ok. The problem lies within IIS I think. Because after a restart/unload of IIS everything works ok again for a while. What I want to know if someone else had this error and what they did to solve this problem. Thanks. This might not be the fix for everyone but this worked for me. I work w/ both an sql server DB as well as an oracle 9i DB. My Provider looked like this.strConn = "DSN=Test;UID=IT;PWD=WEB"Why did i not provide a provider? I dont know this is just some code i copied a year 1/2 ago and it has work the entire time w/ no problems. I can only assum w/ this connection string that it defaulted to oledb. We decided today to use the oracle oledb provider and it seems to work pretty well. so the new connection string looks like this.strConn = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=?;Password=?;Data Source=?"Since putting this into place we have not encountered any of the errors mentioned before on the 'open' or 'execute'. It has been 1 week and no errors. We are happy again.
