Msn Messenger Whiteboard Help Error
whenever I try to share an app or WB I immediatly get an error on the sharing PC saying The computer that you are trying to reach is not responding The netowrk might be experiencing a problem or there might be a problem with software compatibility Error 0x80072746 An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. Both machines are beside each other, I can IM and remote assistance between them without any problems. I thought our McAfee Firewall may have been the problem but after configuring it every which way I resorted to http://www.vistax64.com/live-messenger/178040-error-0x80072746-when-sharing-whiteboard.html uninstalling it but still get the error. Anyone any ideas how to resolve this? TIA gerryR gerryR, Aug 29, 2008 #1 Advertisements RichT Guest I am having the same problem. The remote machine is a Vista & mine is XP. we are both installing the same program. Yet the other system shows whiteboard & share apps as grayed out. My screen says the remote machine has http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/error-0x80072746-when-sharing-whiteboard.372508/ whiteboard disabled or not installed. where is teh option to enable it or where do I "install it" RichT, Oct 3, 2008 #2 Advertisements Grant Guest Yeah I am getting the same error. Any solutions yet? Both clients are XP "RichT" wrote: > I am having the same problem. The remote machine is a Vista & mine is XP. > we are both installing the same program. Basically MS has decided that everyone in need of any kind of whiteboarding system would have automatically decided to upgrade to Vista. So Vista & XP white boarding is not supported, and you can't remote into a Vista machine from an XP system.... sounds like MS tiring to force an un-necessary upgrade. I did find however a program called Microsoft shareview.... it seems to work well "Grant" wrote: > Yeah I am getting the same

If you're in category view click Network and Internet connections then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is unchecked. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate msn messenger whiteboard Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com Quote:> I have been trying to use whiteboard in MSN, with friends > who, like me, have Windows XP. I am able to get the wiimote to be connected via bluetooth setup and preferences pane But it doesn't pair.I am new to wii and feel like maybe I am missing something with the wiimote, while I can get it to synch I can't seem to turn it on with the wiimote on button, no lights, just flashing lights while synching bluetooth. When I launch the Whiteboard app, I get the Bluetooth failed to initialize error.I looked and searched the forums here and have seen many bluetooth questions but not this error on startup.Has anyone seen this before and can offer some suggestions. benpaddlejones Support Admin Karma: +49/-0 : 1178 Offline Re: Bluetooth failed to initialize error on starting up Whiteboard « #1 : July 05, 2008, 09:28:26 PM » maui1Try the Java Wiimote app: http://www.uweschmidt.org/wiimote-whiteboardThis program has been designed specifically for Mac.
