Feb 09, 2011 12:32 PM|billbob|LINK I have several e-commerce applications that are running on two 2008 Server hosts. The hosts are VM guests with 2vcpu, 2GB RAM. The apps are load balanced between the two hosts using NLB. I'm seeing in the event log 20-30 times a day : Level: Warning Source: NLB EventID: 105 NLB cluster []: Timer starvation has been detected. This might be due to a denial of service attack or a very high server load. During this period, some connections might fail. If this problem recurs frequently, analyze the threat and take appropriate measures and/or add more servers to the cluster. An informational event log entry will be logged when the attack has subsided. This might be due to a denial of service attack or a very high server load. During this period, some connections might fail. If this problem recurs frequently, analyze the threat and take appropriate measures and/or add more servers to the cluster. An informational event log entry will be logged when the attack has subsided. Is this something to be concerned with? It generally occurs during peak use, 8am - 6pm EST. I don't see performance issues from monitors, I have had several small outages that are unexplained, but they don't always match up to these events. And, the resource usage of the hosts does not appear to be an issue. NLB Server 2008 Reply Lloydz 2318 Posts Re: NLB Timer starvation - a problem? Could you please check the following article: Event ID 105 — NLB Denial-of-service Protection http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc726481(v=ws.10).aspx Thanks. ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › This site is managed for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC. | © 2016 Microsoft.
