This is already described in the known issues (nr. 9879227) but unfortunately the suggested workaround (edit region, apply changes) does not work ora-01403 no data found ora-06512 for any of the reports yet. Currently the only working way I found is to delete and recreate the region, but this is not applicable for the whole application. Does anyone know another solution to this problem (without recreating the region itself)? When will the mentioned patch be available to solve this? all records have been fetched. The return code from the fetch was +4, indicating that all records have been returned from the SQL query. Action: Terminate processing for the SELECT statement Many people experience ORA-01403 in https://community.oracle.com/thread/1114557 association with the SELECT INTO clause. SELECT INTO clauses are standard SQL queries which pull a row or set of columns from a database, and put the retrieved data into variables which have been predefined. If the SELECT INTO statement doesn't return at least on e row, ORA-01403 is thrown. Here is an example: SQL> declare 2 v_authName author.author_last_name%type; 3 begin 4 select 5 author_last_name into v_authName 6 from 7 author 8 http://www.dba-oracle.com/sf_ora_01403_no_data_found.htm where 9 author_state = 'FL'; 10 dbms_output.put_line('Name: '||v_authName); 11 end; 12 / declare * ERROR at line 1: ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: at line 4 Because the query is looking to retrieve authors in Florida and there are none, the ORA-01403 error is thrown. To avoid ORA-01403, the PL/SQL has to contain exceptions , otherwise the query will offer to values to the defined variable. If the exceptions are not defined properly, you will encounter ORA-01403, and your situation may worsen each time you attempt to access the particular variable. Creating an exception in which only one row can be retrieved would allow the code to appropriately handle the exception without receiving the ORA-01403 error. To create this SELECT INTO query that will avoid the ORA-01403 error, and handle the appropriate exceptions, here is an example: SQL> create or replace function auth_Name 2 ( v_auth_state IN author.author_state%type) 3 return varchar2 4 as 5 v_authName author.author_last_name%type; 6 begin 7 select 8 author_last_name into v_authName 9 from 10 author 11 where 12 author_state = v_auth_state; 13 return v_authName; 14 exception 15 when TOO_MANY_ROWS 16 then return 'Too Many Authors in that State'; 17 when NO_DATA_FOUND 18 then return 'No Authors in that State'; 19 when others 20 then raise_application_error( 21 -20011,'Unknown Exception in

ORA-01403: no data found. ORA-01403: no data found And the code that generates this error is: PROCEDURE LEP_DESCARGA_ARCHIVO IS lv_FilePath VARCHAR2(32000); lv_FileName VARCHAR2(32000); BEGIN lv_FilePath := SUBSTR(owa_util.get_cgi_env('PATH_INFO'),2); SELECT name INTO lv_FileName FROM table_file WHERE no data found UPPER(name) like UPPER(lv_FilePath); wpg_docload.download_file(lv_FileName); EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN HTP.htmlopen; HTP.headopen; HTP.title('Archivo Descargado'); HTP.headclose; HTP.bodyopen; HTP.header(1, 'Estado de Descarga'); HTP.print('Descarga del archivo ' || lv_filePath || ' falló.'); HTP.print(SQLERRM); HTP.bodyclose; HTP.htmlclose; END LEP_DESCARGA_ARCHIVO; The problem is that Error shows too much information in the Error. LEP_DESCARGA_ARCHIVO is important for another process in my site. Where do I have to configure Oracle in order for this Error not to appear? you Google for this little problem. One of the features introduced with Oracle Apex 3.1 is the Declarative BLOB support. About this subject there is already a good article on Oracle By Example (OBE) site: Defining and Viewing BLOB Data in Oracle Application Express 3.1. Last Friday I lost almost an hour just to have a simple classic report with an image column. I was getting aORA-01403 error because simply I wasn't referencing the Table Primary Key in my SQL Query!
report error:
ORA-01403: no data found
These are the steps needed to have the image column successfully displayed: Report Source Query Important Tip: You must include the Primary Key column in your query.
SELECT my_id, DBMS_LOB.getlength ("MY_LOGO") my_logo
FROM my_table;
Report Column Attributes Format Mask Attributes Important Tip:Database table and column names are case sensitive. Tabular Form Element Include the reference to the Schema, Table and Blob Column. 1 comments | Posted in » BLOB, Oracle Apex, Reports Related Posts by Categories Widget by Hoctro | Jack Book 1 comments: Responses to " ORA-01403 when viewing BLOB data in a report (APEX) " By Anonymous on February 22, 2013 at 3:45 PM thanks! that helped me a lot!
