(Recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium. I don't think I had the error before the upgrade, but I'm not sure. And I don't think it has to do with the upgrade.)Possible clues (perhaps we have some of these in common?): Acronis TrueImage Home v10.0 is installed (for backing up the entire system). I used it to create a Secure area of the hard drive where backups would be stored. This partitioned the drive in some special way. Later on I noticed there were 2 C drives listed, and one said "missing", so I got rid of it. (Creating a Restore Point was failing because of that extra C drive issue.)HP 6150 All-In-One Printer - this has given me endless problems with Vista and network compatibility.
