And then I noticed afterwards that during the boot process, I would get this message:autochk* program not found - skipping AUTOCHECKThe message shows up after the windows logo and before the logon screen.I can still run windows just fine with no problems what-so-ever. The only issue with it, is that it's there. I just want to make the message go away. I can make it not show up by selecting "no GUI boot" in msconfig, but that only masks the issue. If I can fix it, I would like to do that. So, I searched for this issue on the forum here and found THIS. I followed the instructions there, but they didn't work.Is there anything else I can do?Thank you for the help!K.CampbellSystem Info:OS: Windows 7 Professional x64Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L670 CustomizedMfg part#: PSK3AU-055014RAM: 8GB Dual-Channel DDR3CPU: Intel i5 CPU M460@2.53GHzMot

Windows 7: Autocheck not found - Skip Autocheck error 25 Oct 2014 #1 arleetel Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 20 posts Autocheck not found - Skip Autocheck error Hello, checked the HKLM\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Session Manager First I ran chkdsk /R:C Nothing was found nor repaired. 1. found the OODBS not found string with a strange sign and removed it, corrected the entry to autocheck autochk* Restarted the computer and everything seemed normal. 2. This morning I had the same error Autocheck not found - Skip Autocheck Went to the registry and found the following entry in Boot Execute : autocheck autocheck autochk* Again I modified it to the right entry. I got an error message : Data of type MULTI_SZ cannot contain empty strings. Looked it up and according to autochk program not Microsoft : no action needed the empty string will be removed ! Restarted the computer and I got the same error again but in the registry the right entry is still present. Now I really don't understand it any more. Can someone help me to get rid of this error. Thanks. I hope this solves my problem. My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number unknown OS
