Is anyone else out there successfully connecting to iSeries V5R3 files via Microsoft Access? I am able to link to the ODBC connection and add the table, but when I http://www.jdelist.com/vb4/showthread.php/28040-SQL0204-error-when-accessing-iSeries-file-via-Microsoft-Access-ODBC double-click the entry, I get this error (screenshot attached): Could not execute query; could not find linked table. [IBM] [iSeries Access ODBC Driver][DB2 UDB]SQL0204 - "7334" in OL7334 type *FILE not found. (#-204) (For example, Object Librarian - B7334 which points to library OL7334. In this case I was trying to link to OL7334/F9860.) It allows me to import the files just fine. I have updated to the latest iSeries Access for Windows V5R3 service pack and still get the same results. I have tried Access 2000 and Access 2003 and get the same result for both. IBM Software Support helped me capture a trace log, and it appears that Microsoft Access is incorrectly forming the SQL statement. Any ideas on how to get around this? -TimSimilar Threads: Reg Errors Failed to read specifications & Business function passed incorrect error map to CallObject! & [Microsoft][ODBC S Performance Issues with iSeries Access ODBC Error Creating XML file in AS/400 iseries ODBC iSeries Access for Windows & JDE DB2/400 + ODBC + Microsoft Access Attached Images 109146-sql0204 error.gif (32.8 KB, 246 views) Indianapolis JDE/PeopleSoft Regional User

We have http://wiki.ispirer.com/sqlways/troubleshooting-guide/db2/export-conversion/data/sql0204-first-in-n-type-mem-not-found a stored procedure written in SQLRPGLE that selects all the records in a table and returns them in a result set. This same stored procedure runs on other iSeries not found machines just fine. On one of our customer's machines, the stored procedure will run and put 200 records into the result set (I ran in debug to verify). However, the data is not passed back to the calling application (happens to be a Windows application written in vb.net). The calling application gets: SQL0204 - S000001 in type * not n not found found. Here are the entries in the joblog: Cursor C1 opened. 1 result sets processed by the SET RESULT SETS statement. 1 result sets are available from procedure GETCARRIERINFO in *N. 1 rows fetched from cursor C000001. ODP not deleted. Cursor C1 was closed. S000001 in type * not found. The machine is running V5R4 of the OS and is fairly current on PTFs. Below is the entire SQLRPGLE source. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have been fighting this for a couple weeks now and am at an end of what I can think of to try. Export Errors for IBM DB2 » SQL0204 - *FIRST in *N type *MEM not found Ispirer Home Page Ispirer SQLWays Migration Product Page Request SQLWays SQL0204 - *FIRST in *N type *MEM not found Symptoms When exporting data from AS/400 DB2 database the “SQL0204 - *FIRST in *N type *MEM not found” error is returned. Cause The object is not valid for the operation in the database. One possible reason is that the AS/400 file (table in terms of SQL) does not have any members. Solution Please, check, with some simple operation on this object, whether it's valid for the operation in the database. If the operation fails, then please contact your DBA for a help or check whether this table is actually used and required to be converted, probably you can exclude it from the conversion process.
