I decided to install my developer application http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/46142/fastboot-doesnt-see-device on phone using wifi. To do this I need to do some things with my phone. The first step is to unlock bootloader. I stack on step 8, fastboot oem get_identifier_token shows info < waiting to device >. adb sees my device but fastboot can't. An idea? My phone is HTC Wildfire S and these are steps which I am following: I restarted phone and entered into FASTBOOT USB mode I tried to run fastboot oem get_identifier_token command but without success. I use Windows 7 Professional and my phone is recognized as HT1CSTR05155. rooting adb fastboot share|improve this question edited May 26 '13 at 18:57 asked May 26 '13 at 18:28 pepuch 196118 1 What is the phone model, and what instructions are you following? Did you reboot the phone in fastboot mode (e.g., by using adb reboot bootloader)? What OS you are using on the computer, and how does it recognize the phone at that time? –Sergey Vlasov May 26 '13 at 18:40 Sergey, see my edit. –pepuch May 26 '13 at 18:57

Problem is I'm on a Mac. When I plug in my device, it can be discovered when I run adb devices. I run adb reload bootloader and it goes into download mode (the mode you get when you hold Volume Down + Home button when powering up). Is this correct? I assume it is. Anyway, when it is in this stage, adb devices or fastboot devices yields nothing. I have tested this on device not found i9100 and i9505. adb boot fastboot bootloader share|improve this question asked Dec 3 '13 at 9:04 radj 255137 Related: fastboot doesn't see device / adb can find device but fastboot cannot / adb devices show phone in debug mod but not in fastboot mod / fastboot does not discover my device. At least some of the questions/answers are Unix/Linux based, so they should give you a clue or even more for Mac as well. –Izzy♦ Dec 3 '13 at 10:33 1 I've seen some of those QA links before. Maybe I should have mentioned them in the question. Link 1: Windows driver related. Link 2: resolved itself after restart and symlink creation. Didn't help in my case. Link 3 & 4: involving udev/rules which doesn't exist on Mac :( Have to check into diskutil since a search mentions this is an alternative on Mac. –radj Dec 4 '13 at 2:11 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 15 down vote To make the system recognize the Android device, in their several modes, one needs to set permissions for his user in udev. device not found en Android con Windows 10Solución: ADB device not found en Android con Windows 10 21/09/2015 por Matías La Orden 63 comentarios Es más que probable que si estás leyendo este artículo y no estás habituado a rootear móviles Android o utilizar la consola de comandos para actualizar manualmente móviles, utilizando el fastboot.exe y el adb.exe del SDK de Android, el error "ADB device not found" te suene a chino.
