The_AvengerSeptember 12th, 2008, 02:52 PMHello guys, I have a pretty good knowledge of Windows but I am new to Ubuntu and the Linux world. I am trying to run an Ubuntu installation error dnet header not found under VMware Workstation 5.5.8 (configured expecially for Ubuntu). I installed successfully Ubuntu 8.04 error dnet header not found go get it from and made some basic configurations and updates. My current kernel version is 2.6.24-19-generic. I tried to install VMware Tools but configure: error: couldn't figure out how to access libc I got an error described here (http://muffinresearch.co.uk/archives/2008/07/13/ubuntu-hardy-setting-up-vmware-tools-from-the-cli/). The article also suggests a solution by installing open-vmware-tools. So I downloaded them and started the ./configure as mentioned. However I get another error message dnet-config "debian" which tells me that "dnet-config was not found on your PATH". According to aptitude I have libdnet installed: p dnet-common - Base package for Linux DECnet p dnet-progs - DECnet user programs and daemons p libdnet - DECnet Libraries p libdnet-dev - DECnet development libraries & Headers Do you have any idea? Below is the whole output of the configure. Thanks. theavenger@UBUNTU32:~/Desktop/open-vm-tools-2008.07.01-102166$ ./configure --without-x checking build
