I attempted to un-install libdnet but failed as I did with snort so I proceeded regardless with a manual installation and experienced a few issues: wget http://libdnet.googlecode.com/files/libdnet-1.12.tgz tar xvfz libdnet-1.12.tgz cd libdnet-1.12/ ./configure make checkinstall dpkg -i libdnet_1.12-1_i386.deb ln -s /usr/local/lib/libdnet.1.0.1 /usr/lib/libdnet.1 Errors: checkinstall (Does not run, command does not exist) dpkg -i libdnet_1.12-1_i386.deb (Can not locate file libdnet_1.12-1_i386.deb) Can any one provide any insight on this issue as it would be most helpful. Thank you for the reply, worked perfectly now to deal with the other thousands of errors. Last edited by despuit; November 19th, 2011 at 12:08 AM. I would use extreme caution if you use them as their default configuration will aggressively overwrite core packages. Please read about Installing Software, Source Installs, and Repositories, and note the warnings and advice about installing and configuring the yum priorities plugin. Non-core repos should have a higher numeric value, which is a lower priority. Lower header not found is "better" as in golf scores.Packages for libdnet and libdnet-devel (what you probably need) are available from RPMforge and EPEL repos if you want to proceed with your source install, but do note that package-based systems should use packages if possible.
