This answer might be useful (http://superuser.com/questions/485722/h … n-grub-cfg). You can edit your grub.cfg by booting into the flashdrive and then mounting your system the same way you installed it. If not something must have gone wrong during the creation of live USB. There is another user who faced the same problem using the same tool you used to create live USB. See /casper/vmlinuz: not found As suggested in an answer in the above post, you can also try adding the .efi extension to vmlinuz (or remove if efi is already there) a

I came to realize that it was trying to install in my /boot on Xubuntu. So I went and deleted the files there, but it seems I deleted some Xubuntu as well. When I try to boot I get: "error: file '/boot/vmlinuz-3.5.0-25-generic' not found. error: you need to load the kernel first." So I assume I accidentally deleted the kernel? How would I go about getting that back? If so, you can repair by booting into the old kernel and reinstalling 3.5.0-25. Else you need your live disk. Read the documentation provided by the community; if you aren't prepared to do that for the install, there is no reason to believe you will enjoy/understand Arch. –jasonwryan Nov 30 '13 at 18:42 1 @jasonwryan Thank you.
