But that actually breaks my site. –isomorphismes Feb 13 '11 at 3:57 possible duplicate of Error Class Controller not found in CodeIgniter –CodeSlayer Oct 22 '14 at 1:57 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 34 down vote accepted In CodeIgniter 2 your controllers inherit from super class CI_Controller, rather than the super class Controller used in CodeIgniter 1. The same applies to models in CI2 which extend the class CI_Model rather then Model. share|improve this answer edited Jan 30 '11 at 23:46 answered Jan 30 '11 at 22:08 duncmc 93657 put its not cool i have do edit all my files :(, cant get my project to work right now, got a lot of errors.. and encryption_key Wtf :p –Sjmon Jan 30 '11 at 22:37 yup..it worked. also the constuctor class in should be function __construct() { // Call the constructor parent::__construct(); } codeigniter.com/forums/viewthread/159834/#769301 –Parag Sep 20 '11 at 10:57 It's pretty lame that most first-time CI people are probably encountering this error because it's in

It does not work and I have no idea why and I'm pretty desperate now. In \application\core\MY_Base_Controller.php I have this:
26, 2014 3:00 PM / 9 Comments / Eftakhairul Islam It's a simply weird and misleading error message. I was working on a client project which was actually based on Codeigniter (CI) framework version 2.1.3. Somehow, I did a typo in DB setting located at config/database.php file. But, I got a very weird error message: Fatal error: Class ‘CI_Controller' not found in /var/www/my/……./system/core/CodeIgniter.php on line 233 as below…. At a first glance, it seemed that there was a bug in CI Core class. But, it was actually a misleading message. It should have been a database connection error. And, after tracing out the error message properly with xdebug (You must have xdebug installed in your PC to get the above error tracing), i got that there was error coming from DB drive. So, quickly checked the DB setting and fixed the typo. But, In the mean time, I already passed two hours for fixing. Finally, at least I saved my ass from losing two hours more. 😛 Tags*111# apache Bangla Font codeigniter e-shopping email file access permission firefox 4 flickr framework gksudo GP Grameen Phone Industrial Robotic Arms Installing Font JAVA javascript jdk JRE js LAMP LAMP server Linux Minefield MSDNAA MSDN Academic Alliance Multiple Tasks nodejs Open Source paper php php5 rails Robot Robotic Arm RT-Linux ruby server tomcat tutorials Ubuntu virtual host windows wordpress zend framework I want more space I am loving Dropbox, yet would like more free space.
