It might be some kind of netbeans bug that has to do with netbeans connector. I can't find any mention of favicon.ico in my code get http //localhost/favicon.ico 404 (not found) or in the project settings. I was able to fix it by putting the following line in the head section of my html file I am currently using this in my testing environment, but I would remove it for any production environment. share|improve this answer edited Jul 19 '15 at 5:40 answered Jul 9 '15 at 22:46 element11 1,056618 It worked. It happens whenever you do cordova run browser. –Ricardo Cruz Jul 21 at 10:43 add a comment| up vote 6 down vote favicon.ico is the icon of a website on the title bar of your website. Netbeans couldnt find the favicon.ico file in your website folder if you dont want it, you can remove the line that is similar to this in your head section or if you want to use an icon for the title bar, you can use icon convertor to generate a .ico image and keep it in your website folder and use the above line in the head section share|improve this answer answered Jun 26 '15 at 14:41 Trinadh venna 1495 There is no icon like that in my head section. –Rockstar5645 Jun 26 '15 at 14:44 Please post your head section html code, it is difficult to solve an error without seeing the code –Trinadh venna Jun 26 '15 at 14:47 add a comment| up v

Get Favicon.ico 404 (not Found)
was confused when this first started showing up, if I'd never had a file called that... why were people looking
"get /favicon.ico" Error (404): "not Found"
for it? The answer is simple, all it means is that people with browsers that use favicon (Internet Explorer 5.0 +, Firefox, Opera and a most others) are visiting your site. While seeing http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31075893/im-getting-favicon-ico-error a 404 in your log files usually means that a visitor got the dreaded "404 Page Not Found" error, in this case it doesn't. All it means is that the default icon was shown instead of a custom one, your visitors saw no errors :-) Why should you use a favicon? Most peoples bookmarks / favorites list is a very cluttered place. Having yours stand out with http://www.webweaver.nu/html-tips/favicon.shtml a nice graphical reminder of your site beside it is a good way to get their attention again. How To Make a Favicon There's quite a few good favicon creators for free, a few of my favorites are FavIcon from Pics creates a favicon within seconds from any image on your computer, even an animated if you'd like. I'm not going to go into detail here about the actual creation of icons, there are tons of other sites to help you on that if you get stuck.I will tell you the icon basics. Icons are image files that actually contain one or more images, so a good idea is to make the 16x16 size as well as a 48x48 for windows desktops and if you want you could go to the higher Mac sizes size (128x128). When you've done that, name your file favicon.ico. Please not, renaming a jpg, png etc. won't work, it has to be an ico file. How To Get Your Favicon To Show There are 2 different ways to do this: Method 1 This is the easiest to do and it will show your icon no matter what page your visitor adds to th
favicon.ico file at the root http://www.faviconcodegenerator.com/prevent-favicon-404-error.php level of a website, when a webpage is bookmarked https://davidwalsh.name/favicon-404-error a 404 (file not found) error may be generated (depending on the browser used). This error will not be visible to the user, but will be shown in the website server log (traffic report). Is not found it possible to prevent the browser to make a request for the favicon of my site? Yes it is possible, there are more than one ways to solve this favicon request and 404 not found error messages in log files. 1- Using an 404 (not found) invisible favicon.ico file 2- Using .htaccess A very simple solution is put the below code in your .htaccess file

It's an easy, one-time update to your website that you never need to think about once it's done. Lets say you don't care about the favicon or don't have a logo to use as a favicon. Since each browser looks for a "favicon.ico" file when no favicon is assigned, your server may throw off 404 errors on every site visit. What a bunch of wasted bandwidth and server strain! The solution is to use a blank favicon file. It's tiny in size, prevents the useless 404 error, and decreases load on the server. Don't have a blank favicon file? I do. Click here to download it.
